Full description
This is a 8-hour experience from Osaka, built around Daimon Gate, Koyasan Special Head Temple Shojoshin-in and Okunoin Cemetery. It is run by SANSAN旅行株式会社, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.
The price covers English-Japanese-Chinese speaking Driver-guider, Access to the sacred Goma fire ritual ceremony and Enjoy pure cultural immersion with our multi-language audio. It does not cover Lunch and beverages, Hotel pick-up and drop-off, Personal expenses and Temple Fees: Approx. 2,200 JPY total, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
SANSAN旅行株式会社 sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with SANSAN旅行株式会社 before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience at Mount Koya! This was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Koyasan is a very special place — peaceful, spiritual, beautiful and filled with incredible history. It is not simply somewhere you visit; it is somewhere you experience. Our guide, Hanazawa, was wonderful — friendly, kind and extremely knowledgeable. During the journey, he explained the history of Koyasan and the significance of each place in great detail, which made everything we saw much more meaningful. I especially loved the tour format. After giving us all the information and guidan
Our whole family enjoyed Koyosan and we had an excellent tour guide, Yen.
Mike provided a great tour 🙂 We saw a lot and had plenty of time.
One of the BESTEST in Japan. The Driver/Guide is very very friendly and very helpful person
We loved Yen our guide. He made sure everyone was comfortable and kept us informed of the day. He was easy to talk to and we all had a wonderful day together seeing the beauty of the mountain shrine with a more than competent host! The bus was clean and he provided a local treat, green tea, and water throughout the day. He did a head count every time and as a school teacher I was glad to see him do that. He was very knowledgeable about the sites !
It was a fantastic day and the guide spoiled us with some water and sweets. I do appreciate the kindness and patience at all time.
Shunnavi was a verry good driver and guide. It was a beautiful trip. We did the tempel lunch and at every scene there qas enough time. the cemetry and tempels and fire ceremony were impressive. a day we never forget, thanks to our great guide!
