Full description

Most Pattaya island trips crowd you onto a speedboat for a quick dash to the nearest beach. This one takes a different approach: a 73-foot sailing catamaran that heads further out to islands the day-trip crowds rarely reach. Koh Phai and Koh Rin sit well beyond Coral Island, and their waters are noticeably clearer, with living coral reefs that make the snorkeling stops genuinely worthwhile rather than a token dip.

The day is built around the water. At Koh Phai you'll anchor for a long stop that combines swimming, snorkeling over the reef, stand-up paddleboarding, and a Thai buffet lunch served on board. From there the catamaran sails on to Koh Rin for another round of snorkeling and paddleboarding in some of the cleanest water in the Pattaya area, before a final call at Monkey Island, where a resident troop of macaques scampers along the shoreline — a fun photo stop, best enjoyed from a respectful distance.

With hotel transfers included from Pattaya city and a crew handling everything from gear to lunch service, it's an easy, full day at sea that feels closer to a private charter than a mass-market island tour.

Detailed Itinerary

The day begins with a morning pickup from your Pattaya hotel and a short van ride to the marina, where the crew welcomes you aboard the 73-foot catamaran. The outbound sail to Koh Phai takes around an hour and forty minutes — time to settle onto the nets or shaded deck, take in the coastline, and enjoy the ride. At Koh Phai the boat anchors for the longest stop of the day: snorkel over the coral reef, swim in the calm bay, try the stand-up paddleboards, and sit down to a Thai buffet lunch served on board.

After lunch the catamaran sails on to Koh Rin, a small rocky island ringed by unusually clear water, for another 80 minutes of snorkeling and paddleboarding. The final stop is Monkey Island, where wild macaques gather along the shore — a lively photo opportunity before the relaxed sail back toward Pattaya. You'll be dropped back at your hotel by late afternoon, salt-rinsed and well fed.

Worth paying more than the standard speedboat trips. The catamaran is huge and stable, with plenty of shaded deck and netting at the front to lie on while we sailed. Koh Phai's water was properly clear — I could see coral and fish without even going deep. The buffet lunch on board was better than I expected for a boat kitchen.

We chose this specifically because it goes past Coral Island to the further islands, and that was the right call. Far fewer boats, much better snorkelling. The crew were relaxed and helpful, handing out gear and pushing the paddleboards out for anyone who wanted them. A full day on the water without ever feeling rushed.

Beautiful day out. The sail itself is half the experience — they cut the engines for a stretch and it was just wind and water. Monkey Island was a fun quick stop, though the monkeys are cheeky so hold onto your things. Guide spoke good English and explained each stop before we anchored.

Great boat, great crew, lovely islands. Only note is that the sea was a bit choppy on the way back and a couple of people in our group felt queasy, so take a tablet beforehand if you're sensitive. The snorkelling at Koh Rin more than made up for it.

Really good value once you count the lunch, gear and hotel transfers. The paddleboards were the surprise highlight for us — calm water at the anchorage made it easy even for beginners. Deck space was never crowded despite a decent number of guests.

Did a lot of boat trips in Thailand and this was the most comfortable by a distance. The 73-foot catamaran doesn't slam through waves like the speedboats do, so you arrive relaxed instead of rattled. Long anchor stop at Koh Phai gave us hours in the water. Excellent.

Lovely, well-run day. Pickup was punctual, the boat was clean and the buffet had proper vegetarian options which I always worry about. Swimming off the back of the catamaran in that clear water is a memory I'll keep. Crew took photos for us without being asked.

Enjoyed it thoroughly. The islands are genuinely nicer than Koh Larn and much less crowded. Lunch was decent though the queue for the buffet took a while with everyone going at once. Snorkelling, paddleboarding and the sailing all included makes the price fair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Two things: the boat and the islands. You sail on a 73-foot catamaran rather than a packed speedboat, so there's proper deck space, shade and a much smoother ride — and the route goes beyond Coral Island to Koh Phai and Koh Rin, where the water is clearer and the reefs are actually worth snorkelling.
Yes — masks, snorkels and stand-up paddleboards are all included, along with crew on hand at each anchorage. There's no extra charge for using any of the water equipment.
A Thai buffet lunch is served on board, along with soft drinks and drinking water throughout the day. Let the operator know in advance if you need vegetarian or other dietary options.
Yes, the route includes a visit to Monkey Island, where you'll see the resident macaques. Keep bags zipped and don't hold food openly — the monkeys are bold and will help themselves.
Yes — round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off within Pattaya city is included. Pickup times are confirmed after booking and typically fall in the morning.
A catamaran is far more stable than a speedboat, so most guests are fine. That said, this is open sea and conditions vary — if you're prone to motion sickness, take a tablet before boarding and stay on deck where you can see the horizon.
