La duración es lo que distingue esta excursión del circuito estándar. La mayoría de las excursiones a islas de Krabi duran cinco o seis horas y mantienen a todos en movimiento; a ocho horas, las paradas duran lo bastante para nadar de verdad, secarse y sentarse.

La playa de la cueva de Phra Nang se encuentra bajo un acantilado caliza en saliente en la península de Railay, con el santuario en un extremo donde los pescadores dejan ofrendas de madera talladas a un espíritu que creen que los protege en el mar.
