La bahía de Phang Nga es un paisaje kárstico hundido de unas 40 torres calizas que emergen de aguas verdes y poco profundas entre Phuket y Krabi, famoso por la película de Bond de 1974 rodada en Khao Phing Kan, la isla que hoy se llama isla de James Bond, pequeña, concurrida y que merece veinte minutos. La razón para venir es el piragüismo por las cuevas marinas: con la marea baja, las canoas hinchables se cuelan por túneles hasta lagunas escondidas (los hongs) dentro de las islas, rodeadas de acantilados y manglares, y es la marea la que decide el recorrido. Koh Panyee, el pueblo pesquero musulmán sobre pilotes, es la parada de la comida.
