Damnoen Saduak, a 100 kilómetros al suroeste de Bangkok, es el mercado flotante de las postales: barcas de fruta y fideos en un canal excavado en la década de 1860, en marcha a las 7:00 y terminado a las 11:00, y por eso las excursiones salen de la ciudad a las 6:30. Está lleno y buena parte del comercio son recuerdos, y aun así merece una hora sobre el agua. Amphawa, cerca de allí, funciona de viernes a domingo por la tarde y por la noche y es el que prefieren los habitantes de Bangkok, con salidas en barca a ver luciérnagas al caer la noche. Taling Chan y Khlong Lat Mayom son mercados pequeños de fin de semana dentro de la ciudad, donde lo que importa es la comida.

The price does not cover personal expenses, optional activities, food and drinks not mentioned and tips and gratuities. Everything it does cover is listed in full on this page, so if something is not on that list, budget for it separately.
Because the floating market is a morning market: the boats are busiest from 7:00 and thinning out by 11:00, and the road from Bangkok takes 90 minutes. Tours that leave at 7:00 see the market working; tours that leave at 9:00 see the souvenir stalls. Maeklong's train times are fixed and the itinerary is built around them.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.
