Depuis plus de quatre décennies, le cabaret Alcazar est l'une des soirées qui définissent Pattaya : un spectacle théâtral à grande échelle qui lui a valu la réputation d'être l'une des plus belles productions de cabaret d'Asie. Donné dans un théâtre construit pour lui sur la Second Road de Pattaya, le spectacle remplit 75 minutes d'un tourbillon de numéros musicaux portés par une large troupe d'artistes transgenres de talent, avec des décors fastueux, des éclairages éblouissants et des costumes qui frôlent l'architecture.
La production saute d'une culture et d'une époque à l'autre d'un acte au suivant : la danse classique thaïe cède la place à la K-pop, aux numéros de Bollywood, à l'opéra chinois, à des sketches malicieux et à de grands finals à la Las Vegas, si bien que l'énergie ne retombe jamais longtemps. The auditorium is purpose-built for the production, with good sightlines throughout and air-conditioning that's a welcome break from the evening heat.
Once the lights drop, the show moves fast: act follows act with barely a pause, sweeping from graceful Thai classical dance into Bollywood spectacle, K-pop energy, Chinese opera, and glittering Vegas-style finales, punctuated by comedy numbers that land regardless of language. The costumes and set changes alone are worth the ticket, and the performers' talent carries the whole 75 minutes at full tilt. When the curtain falls, cast members line up outside the theatre for photos — a beloved tradition, with a small tip customary per picture — and you're released into the heart of Pattaya's evening scene, with restaurants and nightlife in every direction.

What a spectacle. The costumes are unbelievable, the sets change constantly and the 75 minutes flew by. Our reserved seats had a clear view of the whole stage. A proper theatrical production, not a small cabaret bar act.
Very professionally staged with excellent lighting and sound. The show moves through different countries and musical styles so there's always something new. Performers were superb. Buying the ticket ahead meant no queuing at the box office.
Loved every minute. The production values are far higher than I expected — huge cast, elaborate sets, and costumes that must cost a fortune. Family friendly too; we took our teenagers and it was tasteful throughout.
Enjoyable evening and good value. The show is glossy and well performed. Only heads-up is the photo opportunity with performers outside afterwards expects a tip, which caught some people off guard. Show itself was excellent.
A Pattaya institution for good reason. Alcazar has been running for decades and it shows in how polished the production is. The traditional Thai segment was my favourite. Theatre is comfortable and air conditioned.
Great fun and beautifully staged. Arrive twenty minutes early to find your seat comfortably. The variety of numbers keeps everyone entertained and the finale is genuinely dazzling. Well worth the ticket price.
Colourful, energetic and worth seeing once. Seats were as booked and the view was fine. It is very much a tourist show with plenty of audience from tour groups, but the talent on stage is undeniable.
Impressive from start to finish. Costume changes every few minutes, big dance numbers and a very talented cast. Easy to find on Second Road and the ticket voucher was scanned without any fuss.
