Full description
This is a 11-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Amanohashidate Viewland, Bus/coach and Funaya. It is run by イ一エストラベル株式会社, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.
The price covers Transportation, Fuel and Licensed driver-guide. It does not cover Meals and Personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
イ一エストラベル株式会社 sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with イ一エストラベル株式会社 before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Amazing Job! We were very impressed by the views and Lui was a great guide in letting us know the history and where to go when we got off the bus. He was very accommodating with the different types of things people booked (food, cable car, boat etc) and translating for all the guests too. He also messaged everyone maps and timing of when we should be back at the bus which was very helpful.
The trip is wonderful, and the guides are very organized and professional.
In Japan I experienced so far from mediocre to very good guides, but Mingjie He was the worst. His English was barely understandable in the bus and he took much care for the Chinese travellers. First, the tour started delayed and this time was taken off from the visiting time at the first stop where we spent some time on the beach. my daughter and myself came 1 minute late before planned departure, but the others of our group were 5 minutes behind but MingjieHe let the bus depart without us. so we were separated from my non adolscent daughter. then he wrote a Whatsapp that we could take a publ
there was plenty of free time to enjoy the area
We were expecting much more from the trip and while our guide had to translate the information into three languages, we tended to feel lost and left to figure things out for ourselves
The guide barely spoke English and mostly repeated phrases 10 times every time. He spoke to us only on the bus and gave us return times for every activity. I frankly felt guided like I was a prisoner and some activities were pretty much meaningless (45 mins in a fishermen village, where the only open place was an information office..?). Plus, out of the 11 hours, 6 were transportation.. Bottomline, a truly bad experience
Wirklich empfehlenswert :)
For an excursion that took that long, there was not a whole lot to do. Although, Amanohashidate was a nice place, the top of the mountain was completely outdated. Not a lot for adults to do or places to eat. The chairlift was fun. Ine fishing village was a very nice place to visit. I am sure it’s even better during the warmer season. I was able to take great pictures from both locations. The guide was a little awkward though. He tried with his jokes and he could’ve done better with his speeches. Nevertheless, it’s a good tour for the price. I would recommend it for those visiting Kyoto or Osak
