Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Katsuo-ji, Miyama Kayabuki-no-Sato and Arashiyama. It is run by JHT HOLIDAY TRAVEL, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Arashiyama, on Kyoto's western edge, is the bamboo grove, the Togetsukyo bridge over the Katsura river, the gardens of Tenryu-ji and the monkey park on the hill above. The bamboo path is about 500 metres and is photographed empty in every guidebook because those photographs are taken before 7:30; by mid-morning it is a procession. Rickshaw runs, the Sagano scenic railway along the gorge, and boat rides down the Hozu rapids all start here. Autumn colour peaks in the second half of November and cherry blossom around the first week of April.

Super journée, la guide Feng était vraiment très chouette et attentionnée. Le chauffeur était également très gentil. Le temps de visite pour chacune des activités était parfait pas trop long, pas trop court. je suis montée a Osaka et retour à Kyoto. ce qui était très pratique pour moi. Fantastic day! Our guide, Feng, was absolutely lovely and attentive. The driver was also very kind. The time allotted for each activity was perfect—not too long, not too short. I flew up to Osaka and back to Kyoto, which was very convenient for me.

This day tour to Miyama, Katsuoji, and Arashiyama was a wonderful experience, especially in spring. The scenery was beautiful, with cherry blossoms and fresh greenery, and Miyama’s village was peaceful and relaxing. The itinerary was well organized, with smooth travel and no rush. It was also convenient from Osaka. Arashiyama was especially scenic and great for photos. The guide was professional and attentive, making the whole trip easy and enjoyable.
