Full description
This is a 10-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Bus/coach, Sanzen-in Temple and Kifune Shrine. It is run by Leda Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Arashiyama, on Kyoto's western edge, is the bamboo grove, the Togetsukyo bridge over the Katsura river, the gardens of Tenryu-ji and the monkey park on the hill above. The bamboo path is about 500 metres and is photographed empty in every guidebook because those photographs are taken before 7:30; by mid-morning it is a procession. Rickshaw runs, the Sagano scenic railway along the gorge, and boat rides down the Hozu rapids all start here. Autumn colour peaks in the second half of November and cherry blossom around the first week of April.
The price covers Fuel and toll fees and Multilingual. It does not cover Accommodation, Food and drinks, Entrance fees to any optional attractions and Personal expenses and souvenirs, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Leda Japan sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Leda Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
The Bamboo Forest was truly beautiful, especially hearing the enchanting sounds of the swaying bamboo all around us. The Monkey Park was so much fun, and the hidden gardens along the way felt peaceful and magical. Every stop added something special to the experience. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing interesting history and local details throughout the tour, and the pace was absolutely perfect — relaxed enough to enjoy everything without ever feeling rushed.
Our driver today was incredibly friendly; he enthusiastically shared his insights and advice based on his 30 years of experience in Japan, answering all our questions along the way. The whole trip was wonderful and completely stress-free. Sanzen-in offered fresh, crisp air, and while Kifune Shrine isn't large, it was lovely to stroll around and take in the sight of the flowing water and torii gates.
That was a lovely experience with beautiful places to visit. Our driver Song was on time and always here to answer our questions.
Der Fahrer war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns am Anfang begleitet, erklärt und sogar auch Fotos von uns gemacht. Der Ausflug war super schön gewesen.
