This is a 6-hour experience in Nara. It is run by Kansai Local Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.

We went to Nara Nature park and the Big Buddha. It was fantastic day for my husband and I. Our daughter had seen it on TikTok so she asked us to go. What a great suggestion. Luckily we were able to get hold of Allysa on What’s app. So she made sure everything was taken care of and met us in Kobe at the Cruise Terminal and we took 2 trains 1hour 20 mins. It was well worth the trip. It be something I would do again. Allysa was a find. She made sure my husband could rest when needed and checked with us on pace, food and finding toilets. And she took great photos

We had the best time with our guide, Rose. We were met at our cruise terminal and used the train system to go to Nara with a bonus stop off in Osaka on the way back to the ship. Loved the deer park and Rise took lots of photos for us. She was friendly, informative and professional. We really enjoyed our day so thank you Rose for making great memories for us.

Alyssa is a terrific guide. we had a wonderful trip up the ropeway and toured the garden. we then went to a lunch which we treated her to and she really helped with the language barrier. Great job!!!

We had the most enjoyable day in Kyoto with our lovely guide Alyssa. I highly recommend having a personal guide as the train connections are complicated and time is saved by having a local to navigate. Alyssa was very caring trying to keep us cool on a very hot day and moving at our pace. She is very knowledgeable and informative. Thankyou Alyssa for our beautiful day.

My wife and I took the private trip to Kyoto, well organised by Allysa who is a senior guide. She turned up at the right time to collect us at the Kobe port that our cruise ship sailed into. She spoke very good English. Took us by various trains including a bullet train into Kyoto. She explained very well about Japanese history, life , religion and culture. It was very exciting day . She took us to a restaurant where we cooked our own lunch.. On our request she dropped us in the city centre of Osaka and explained to us how to make our way back to the ship. She gave us enough time for each attr

We had a great tour. It started out great when our guide, Alyssa, met us exactly where we expected and was waiting for us as we passed thru customs. We were using local transportation and she had an excellent knowledge of the train and subway schedules to move us efficiently from the port to Osaka, about Osaka, and back to the ship. She was very knowledgeable and just as important, we were able to understand her which which did not occur with other guides we had used on our Japan trip. Would strongly recommend Alyssa's services to someone wanting to tour Osaka or Kyoto.

Edwin we a superb host/guide. Spoke very good English. He picked us from the port and returned us back after a wonderful day in Kyoto. We used a mix of local train, taxi, subway and Shinkansen. We saw all was wanted to see and more. Can’t recommend Edwin enough. Excited for our next trip to Kyoto.
