Penang's Climate: Similar Heat, Coastal Relief
Penang sits off Peninsular Malaysia's northwest coast and shares the country's year-round tropical warmth — daytime highs around 31-33°C in every month — but its coastal position and the sea breeze off the Strait of Malacca take the edge off compared to landlocked KL, especially around Batu Ferringhi and Georgetown's waterfront.
Like the rest of Peninsular Malaysia, there's no true dry season. The Southwest Monsoon (May-September) brings Penang's relatively drier stretch with short afternoon storms; the Northeast Monsoon (October-March) brings heavier, more sustained rain, peaking around November.
