Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Krabi. It is run by Aonang Elephant Sanctuary, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
A private day with a driver-guide is the way to see the most of a Japanese city or region in one day, because it removes the transfers between sights that eat a third of the day on public transport. Prices are usually per vehicle for up to a set number of guests rather than per person, and cover the car, fuel, tolls and the guide; entrance fees and lunch are paid as you go unless the listing says otherwise. Japanese guides are licensed for the work and typically punctual to the minute. Give the operator your priorities, and expect them to reorder the day around opening hours and crowds; that is what you are paying for.
The price covers Tour guide, Snack, Drinking water, Food to feed elephants and Transfer to/from Ao Nam Mao pier. It does not cover Gratuities, Lunch or dinner and Towel, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Aonang Elephant Sanctuary sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Aonang Elephant Sanctuary before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Amazing experience! And such a wonderful place, I wish more people would visit them, as it's very costly to run a sanctuary.
Very pleasant and fun experience, the staff is great, group size is small, you get a lot of time to enjoy each activity, feeding, mudding, bathing.. definitely worth it!
Omg you have to do this trip!!. It was amazing, from start to finish. Very informative, nothing too much trouble. We went as a family 2 adults and a 17 year old as we were all very much in awe ❤️ I’m not going to tell you how fantastic it was Cus you need to experience it yourselves. All I would say is the elephants were so gentle.
What an excellent experience! We learnt so much about the care of the elephants and the guides were amazing and really great with our 3 year old son, encouraging him to feed the elephants and how to do it. The highlight was definitely washing the elephants in the water and being sprayed - my son loved it. There was no hard sell for photos and all photos taken during the trip were emailed over for free which was great! Would highly recommend
Amazing afternoon. I would highly recommend this trip. The guide was very informative and also funny. Give great advice on how to behave around them. Food and drink was constant with a lovely sticky mango rice to finish. The elephants, wow. They are beautiful. We feed them, bathed them in mud and give them a good scrub. There were showers and towels provided for us to clean up. The support team kindly took photos and videos on our phones and they also had a photographer who emailed over a link to all their photos for free!!!
This was absolutely amazing, definitely value for money, the staff was more then happy to follow you around with your phone and capture all the moments,
Great experience. Very friendly and informative guide and staff and the activities were a great experience.
exceptional and most informative 👏 loved every minute. an absolute amazing day.
great trip. really interesting explanation on the elephants and how they are used very much like horses. great explanation re the ethical nature of their use in tourism. elephants great and you get a real chance to be up close. mahoots amazing. recommend
Amazing! I’m so glad I did this particular excursion. I was on my own but felt apart of the group because of the people who were in my booking AND the guides were so kind and nice. They took photos on my phone for me without me even asking, and they took GOOD photos as well! No instructions needed (someone cooked here) they also took FREE professional photos that were sent within hours of being taken. The elephants were docile and unaggressive, we had everything explained to us from what a mahout is, and what happens from day to day with the elephants. Our guide was humorous and insightful. I
it was wonderful to be up close and personal with these gentle giants
I went to an elephant sanctuary last year and didn't think it could be beaten but it was incredible. Very interesting facts and details I didn't know before. The whole experience was magical. 110 out of 10. please go and support this company to be able to keep looking after these incredible animals
