Completely safe — the glass tray is made of multi-layered tempered glass rated to hold far more weight than it will ever carry. It feels terrifying standing 314 meters above the street on transparent glass, but it's engineered to the highest safety standards. You must wear provided shoe covers to protect the glass surface. Bags and loose items must be secured. If you're afraid of heights, you can still enjoy the panoramic views from the solid-floor sections of the rooftop.
Plan for 60-90 minutes to fully enjoy the experience. Mahanakhon is directly connected to BTS Chong Nonsi station — the entrance is literally at the base of the building when you exit the BTS. From Khao San Road, take a taxi (100-150 THB) or grab a tuk-tuk.
