Doing the Taj Mahal in a single day from Mumbai sounded mad, but it worked beautifully. The flight to Delhi was smooth, the car on the Yamuna Expressway was clean and cold, and our guide in Agra was a proper historian. Standing in front of that marble by late morning felt unreal. My only honest note is the heat in September was brutal and the drive back to Delhi felt long after a full day on our feet. Bring more water than you think.
