Should You Book a Seoul Tour Direct or Through an App?

Plenty of Seoul tour operators will tell you to book direct to skip platform fees, and every big app will tell you their vetting and support make booking through them safer. Both miss what actually matters: can you get a specific question answered by a real person before you pay?

A DMZ day trip or a hanbok palace visit involves real logistics — passport requirements at the DMZ checkpoint, hanbok sizing for a specific body type. If nobody confirms those details until after you've paid, it doesn't matter whether you found the booking through an operator's own contact or a polished app — you're booking blind either way.

Booking direct with a verified local operator removes one real risk: a long reseller chain where your money and your question both pass through two or three middlemen before reaching the operator who actually runs the tour. That's genuinely worth avoiding.
