This is a 7-hour experience from Bangkok, built around Bus/coach, Wat Chaiwatthanaram and Wat Lokaya Sutha. It is run by Bigcountry Experience Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.

Fantastic and perfectly organized day trip, very symbolic and historical landmarks and temples. Sam is a very friendly and talkative guide, respectful of each one necessities and times. Schedule was very sharp and we managed to see everything respecting timings and allowing at the same time to get to visit, explore and enjoy. We always had a first introductory part where Sam would explain us some things, letting us know rules and advices for each activity, and a free time exploration on our own.

Our tour guide Sam is the best one can ask for. He is super knowledgeable and can answer all kinds of questions that popped out from out of no where. He’s also humorous and welcoming.
