Full description
This is a 3-hour experience from Bangkok, built around Thonburi, Monastery and Ferry. It is run by Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese craft classes are taught by practitioners who have usually done the craft for decades, and they teach it properly: calligraphy begins with how to hold the brush and grind the ink; pottery on the wheel produces a cup that is fired and posted to you weeks later; ikebana teaches the three-line structure of a Sogetsu or Ikenobo arrangement; indigo dyeing and washi papermaking are done in the workshops of the towns that specialise in them. Classes run one to three hours, materials are included, and most welcome children with a parent.
The price covers Bicycle, guide, Ferry crossing and Drinks and snacks en route. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
23 Soi Charoen Krung 24, Khwaeng Talat Noi, Khet Samphanthawong, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10100, Thailand. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
Loved this bike ride through Chinatown and Thonburi backstreet and alleyways. We stopped at two temples, the flower market and the guides were both informative and friendly. My only advice to company is my bike needed better brakes and the seat was loose too. Overall would highly recommend but if you dont have good bike skills not sure its for you those alleyways are tight and you need to avoid motorcycles, bikes and people rightly going about their lives.
Truly one of the best experiences!!!! Our guides Sam and Bob was amazing ☺️ Recommend 100%!
Excellent way to get off the beaten track. See the flower market, try native fruits and go to a temple.
The Co van Kessel Bangkok Bike Tour is a MUST when visiting Bangkok. The most fun activity I have done there.
It was so much fun to see the backstreets in Bangkok and sights not normally seen. The bikes are super lightweight and no trouble to cycle, you need to be okay on tighter turns but it's a gentle pace! I would absolutely recommend. The guides were lovely and had water and fruit for us to try also. Such a nice way to view the city.
Great day with Benny and Joaquin. Easy ride around back streets seeing areas you would not see . I’m not a bike rider but managed to keep up. Well looked after by the guides.. Highly recommend.
Ling Ling was an amazing tour guide. She led us through Chinatown, the flower market, and other fascinating sites. Ling Ling also provided us with a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of these locations and have the cultures have come together. We took a refreshing break and tasted delicious Thai fruits. I would recommend this excursion to anyone who loves biking and is interested in seeing a side of Thailand where most tourist do not venture.
I cannot recommend this excursion enough! Pam and Kathy led our group with enthusiasm, kindness and fun energy. Loved that we biked through a blend of the chaos in Chinatown to the sunny bridges across the Chao Praya River to markets like the flower market to the quieter back roads of Thonburi. Gifting lotus flowers to the Buddha at lesser known temple and snacks provided at the end were lovely touches. 10/10 would recommend!
Benny and Wan were great guides and made this outing very enjoyable. It was a highlight of Bangkok to discover the small backroads of Chinatown and see the inside of the flower market. Would definitely recommend
This bicycle tour mainly covers Bangkok’s Chinatown area and takes you through truly authentic neighborhoods — places where locals live and work that you’d never normally get to see. I really enjoyed it. Ling Ling and Wakim (hope I got the spelling right) were absolutely brilliant — professional and entertaining. Fantastic value for money and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
Loved the authenticity of the tour and our guides. Great way to see more and stay cool by travelling faster than walking.
Amazing. This was the best way to see the hidden more local side of Bangkok and even a cycle along the crazy Chinatown. Our guides Chai and Tina were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the local area. I would highly recommend this tour. We wish we done the 5 hour tour it was that good.
