Sumo has six fifteen-day tournaments a year, in Tokyo in January, May and September, Osaka in March, Nagoya in July and Fukuoka in November; tickets for the top division from about 15:00 are the hard ones to get. Outside tournaments, morning practice at a stable can be watched with a guide who knows which stables allow it and the strict etiquette. Kabuki at the Kabukiza in Ginza sells single-act tickets on the day for an hour of the four-hour programme, with an English earphone guide. Baseball at the Tokyo Dome or Koshien is a summer evening with the crowd's synchronised chants.

I had a front-row seat. Being able to see the performers' expressions and their dazzling costumes up close allowed me to fully enjoy the powerful, dynamic performance. The quality of the dancing and production was outstanding; I was so captivated that the 70-minute show felt like it was over in a flash. After the show, I was even able to take photos with the performers, creating a wonderful memory of my trip. Watching from the front row offers an exceptional sense of immersion. I highly recommend this show.

This was such a wonderful experience that I truly recommend to anyone ! It was genuinely so beautiful and everyone was super friendly. We got to get photos with the performers too. I went with my friend and we both couldn’t get over how much of a magical experience it was! So much passion and effort goes into these shows and it is clear. Thank you so much for such an incredible show it really was an unforgettable experience. When I come back to Thailand I will 100% be going again!
The show was amazing, funny and really fun to watch. If you don’t drink beer the drinks are quite expensive. But it was a really great night out. We loved it.
