Full description

This is a 3-hour experience in Bangkok. It is run by DiscoverEase Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Japanese food tours work because the best places are small, unmarked and full of regulars, and a guide who orders for you opens them. An izakaya crawl covers yakitori, sashimi, karaage and the local pours of sake, shochu and highballs across three or four counters in an evening; a ramen walk explains the broths, tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and shio, and the regional styles. Most places seat eight to twelve and tours run six to eight guests for that reason. Vegetarians should say so when booking, because dashi stock is fish and hidden in almost everything; halal-certified options exist but are fewer.

The price covers 10+ food tastings, guide, Small group tour and Bottled water. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off and Personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi). We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with DiscoverEase Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Amazing tour by Eve she knew the food of Bangkok so well and went to places we would never normally visit. I was so surprised how cheap the food was and how friendly all of the people serving the food were. There’s some places to sit down along the way. Avoid eating a lot beforehand as it it is over ten dishes with some light snacks and desserts towards the end of the tour.

5 hrs after landing from Australia and Na was guiding us around the busy streets of Chinatown tasting everything from coconut pancakes to fish bladder soup. What an absolute superstar she is - keeping us entertained with stories of Chinatown and explanations of all the food whilst battling through the crowds. Soooo much food consumed but soooo much fun.

Our guide, Peak, was absolutely fantastic! We have had a few tours during our visit, and I discovered that who the guide is entirely makes the difference and can very well shift your mood either way. I don't think we could have asked for more. She was patient, giving us enough time between stops to eat or rest, go to the toilet, or just for the group to interact with each other. All the food stalls that we visited had amazing food - 10 out of 10. The walks were not too long, but still enough to allow for a pleasant chat. I am vegetarian I didn't state this when booking because I went with my h

Meet-up instructions were clear and detailed. Our guide Peak made all participants of the group feel welcome and encouraged everyone to engage with each other. Peak was happy to share her time with us and make it a memorable experience. She shared her knowledge about the Chinatown area and showed us some places that are rarely found by the average tourist. Food was plentiful - both savoury and sweet. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.

Definitely come hungry! Eve was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and made sure we were all very well taken care of. Did I say come hungry? Yeah…skip a meal before (in a good way. You won’t be disappointed)

The tour was great. Many different options to try and taste. Eve the guide is fun and cute, with lots of patients and knowledge. Good English! The only thing we may suggest is to add a bit more walking between the stations to have the food go down a bit

I highly recommend this tour as a way to see China Town. Be prepared to go starving though as there are many courses both savoury and sweet , big and small. We visited Michelin starred and other awarded places, all food tasted was really good. The group size of 8 was just big enough to feel friendly and thanks to our tour guide Eve the whole evening was a great success. The tour had been a highlight of our stay - book it for sure.

Eve was incredible! We started out in a curry stall that I know we would never have even seen let alone be brave enough to try on our own but it was so good! All the foods were delicious and different, taking us to restaurants, food carts down alleys and right through the street night market. Eve made time for special requests as well, our daughter wanted to try durian and she made that happen. Definitely recommend but come hungry! Thanks for a great and very filling evening!

Two to four kilometres at a slow pace with plenty of stops; flat, but hot and humid, so bring water and light shoes. The stalls a guide takes you to are the ones with a queue and a fast turnover, which is the real food-safety test in Thailand. Say 'mai phet' if you want it not spicy.
