Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Bangkok. It is run by Secret Food Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese food tours work because the best places are small, unmarked and full of regulars, and a guide who orders for you opens them. An izakaya crawl covers yakitori, sashimi, karaage and the local pours of sake, shochu and highballs across three or four counters in an evening; a ramen walk explains the broths, tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and shio, and the regional styles. Most places seat eight to twelve and tours run six to eight guests for that reason. Vegetarians should say so when booking, because dashi stock is fish and hidden in almost everything; halal-certified options exist but are fewer.
The price covers 8+ Tastings during the tour, Guided food tour of the Chinatown area with 6 stops, local guide and Small group with a maximum of 10 people. It does not cover Transportation and Gratuities, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Secret Food Tours sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Secret Food Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

An excellent food tour with additional information about Chinatown and the local history and customs. Jan our guide was excellent and brought the tour to life with her enthusiasm for the food and the local area. All the food was really delicious and our group was friendly and great company. A fantastic way to spend a few hours exploring Chinatown and eating food we might not have had the confidence to try. Highly recommend!
Loved our guide Jan. She did a great job explaining Thai food culture and took us to spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. Highly recommend!
The tour was amazing and Jan really made the whole experience. We tried food we never would have experienced, 10/10!
The tour was amazing. All of the food stops were great - there were 9 total and the food and drink was plentiful! The guide had a relationship with each vendor and we received top notch service at each location. Not only did we get to taste delicious food, but we learned alot of about the thai culture.
Wonderful Tour Guide! Excellent food in places you would never even find as a tourist!
Good tour, mainly China Town, knowledgable guide, but more than a taster. A more direct route to finding things if short on time. Mona was a good guide
Great guide, really enjoyable experience!
Sehr empfehlenswert!
Sehr toller Guide und gutes verschiedenes Essen
Ausreichend viele Stationen in Bangkok‘s Chinatown (Kombination aus Garküchen und Restaurants). Guten Hunger mitbringen! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt für Thailand nicht so ganz…
