This is a 6.5-hour experience in Bangkok. It is run by Bangkok Urban Private Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese cooking classes usually build a meal around dashi, the kombu and bonito stock that sits under miso soup, simmered dishes and noodle broths, and then one or two headline dishes: rolled sushi or nigiri, gyoza, tempura, okonomiyaki, or a bento box. Wagashi classes make the seasonal sweets served with tea from sweet bean paste. Most classes run two to three hours in a home kitchen or a small studio, and vegetarian versions replace the bonito with a kombu-shiitake dashi. You eat what you make, and Japanese teachers are precise about technique.

Amazing experience super fun would do it again for sure 😍
This was one the very best excursionsthat I've ever been on. It started wonderfully with the delightful EK as my driver and guide, he was engaging, evidently and very keen to ensue i had a great time. The Thai cooking class was amazing. Joycee was a wonderful teacher and we made 4 excellent dishes - i learnt so much and ate so much (no regrets!). and then the Jim Thomas house tour was very interesting. honestly, I cannot find fault with anything, it was an excellent and enjoyable day.
What a fantastic day!! Cooking class was wonderful. We were introduced to all the fresh ingredients and then taught how to cook 4 different dishes. Each one with unique Thai flavors. Come hungry! You won’t want to miss this!!!
Jim Thompson house was impressive. But the cooking experience was our favorite. My husband wasn’t sure when I booked but he loved it more than me. Joyce was lovely, explained all the different ingredients while we chopped them. Made 4 meals so please go on an empty stomach. Every meal was delicious and has inspired us to cook more. Highly recommend

It was great . You get a personal guide throughout the event he stays with you . The museum is like any other museum. The cooking class was amazing . You travel 30 minutes away from central Bangkok. You go into an alley where you are meant by the chef. You spend almost 3 hours cooking 4 meals . I was so full . It was amazing experience. As a solo traveler getting transported around for a day and getting to experience local food and other events it is worth the money.

This was by far my favorite day in Bangkok! Our driver, Ikkyu picked us up from the hotel and drove us to the beautiful Jim Thompson house where we learned the history and mystery of his silk dynasty. The house & artifacts are stunning. After, Ikkyu drove us to Mahanakorn Cooking school for a traditional Thai cooking class. It is located near the giant gold Buddha, & since we were a little early, Ikkyu showed us the temple & museum including an amazing green glass replica of the temple located in the temple spire and spots for amazing photos. From there, we met Joy and her husband, the owners
Joyce was wonderful and really helped us to understand the ingredients used in Thai cuisine. Everything we cooked was delicious. Would love to do it again. Our driver was excellent and we had the benefit of a visit to the Big Buddha temple because we were early. Would highly recommend their trip for everyone.
Jim Thompson house was a good insight into how people lived back then, The cooking class with Joyce was superb, you can tailor your meal to your spice level, Joyce was a great teacher and shows you how to make all the dishes from scratch, including how to make green curry paste from the ingredients, I would highly recommend this trip
Super organisiert danke Alex .. mein Fahrer Ikkyu war super pünktlich. Das Auto sehr sauber und wir haben während der Fahrt im Stau viel gelacht. Das Museum sehr spannend mit der Geschichte von Thompson und der Kochkurs mit Joycez war super toll .. Pasten wurde frisch zubereitet sehr lecker und alles toll organisiert.. sehr zu empfehlen 💞..
