Full description

This is a 2-day experience from Bangkok, built around The Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Tha Tien Market. It is run by Ticket2attraction, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.

The price covers Private round trip transfer to and from Laem Chabang, Petrol, Toll fee, Parking fee, Port fee, Travel insurance, tour guide and Long-tail boat at Damnoen Saduak floating market. It does not cover Meals / Lunch, Personal expenses, Gratuities and Hotel in Bangkok, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Ticket2attraction sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Ticket2attraction before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Because the floating market is a morning market: the boats are busiest from 7:00 and thinning out by 11:00, and the road from Bangkok takes 90 minutes. Tours that leave at 7:00 see the market working; tours that leave at 9:00 see the souvenir stalls. Maeklong's train times are fixed and the itinerary is built around them.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.
