Nice sky view but a little expensive for what it is… Best part there is bar and food so you can stay as long as you want.

Very cool seeing Bangkok from the top of the skyline. Scary experience walking on the glass but well worth it.

great views of Bangkok from that high up. I'm scared of heights. some stranger had to grab my hand and leave me out onto the walkway. lol.. I would recommend trying it once even if you are afraid of heights

It’s definitely an experience you should try. Amazing views from the building itself and from the glass viewing deck is pretty unique if you’re brave enough to try.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk is Bangkok's highest observation deck at 314 meters atop the King Power Mahanakhon building — Thailand's tallest skyscraper. The highlight is the glass floor tray that extends from the rooftop, letting you stand on transparent glass and look straight down 78 floors to the street below. The 360-degree open-air rooftop offers unobstructed views of the entire Bangkok skyline, the Chao Phraya River, and on clear days, all the way to the Gulf of Thailand.
There are typically two main ticket options: the standard SkyWalk ticket (rooftop observation deck + glass tray access), and the premium package that adds a cocktail at the SkyBar on the 76th floor. The standard ticket is the best value — the glass tray and rooftop views are the main attraction. The cocktail upgrade is worth it if you want a memorable drink with the view. Both options include the indoor observation deck on the 74th floor with interactive digital displays.
The golden hour — 30-60 minutes before sunset — is the most spectacular time. You'll see Bangkok transition from daylight to a glittering sea of lights. Sunset times vary by season: approximately 6:00 PM (November-February) and 6:30 PM (March-October). Book your ticket for 1 hour before sunset to enjoy both daylight and nighttime views. Weekday evenings are less crowded than weekends. Combine it with a river dinner cruise afterward.
Completely safe — the glass tray is made of multi-layered tempered glass rated to hold far more weight than it will ever carry. It feels terrifying standing 314 meters above the street on transparent glass, but it's engineered to the highest safety standards. You must wear provided shoe covers to protect the glass surface. Bags and loose items must be secured. If you're afraid of heights, you can still enjoy the panoramic views from the solid-floor sections of the rooftop.
Plan for 60-90 minutes to fully enjoy the experience. This gives you time for the indoor observation deck (74th floor) with its digital screens, the outdoor rooftop (78th floor), photos on the glass tray, and simply absorbing the view. If you add the cocktail package, allow an extra 30-45 minutes at the SkyBar. There's no time limit on your ticket — stay as long as you like.
Mahanakhon is directly connected to BTS Chong Nonsi station — the entrance is literally at the base of the building when you exit the BTS. This makes it one of the most accessible attractions in Bangkok. No taxi or tuk-tuk needed if you're anywhere near the BTS line. The BTS runs until midnight, so evening visits are easy. From Khao San Road, take a taxi (100-150 THB) or grab a tuk-tuk.
There's no strict dress code for the observation deck — casual wear is fine. However, if you upgrade to the SkyBar cocktail package, smart casual is recommended (no shorts or flip-flops). Shoe covers are provided and mandatory for the glass tray to protect the glass surface. Selfie sticks and tripods are not allowed on the rooftop for safety reasons, but phone photography is unlimited.
Yes — children of all ages are welcome and kids under 3 enter free. The glass tray is thrilling for older kids and safe for all ages. The indoor observation deck has interactive digital displays that children enjoy. However, the open-air rooftop has strong winds at 314 meters — hold onto young children and hats. For a child-friendly daytime activity, combine this with the Ancient City and Erawan Museum.
On overcast or rainy days, the rooftop may be temporarily closed for safety while the indoor 74th-floor observation deck remains open. Visibility is reduced but the city lights through clouds can be dramatic at night. If the rooftop is closed for your entire visit, a partial refund or reschedule is offered. Check the weather forecast before booking — the dry season (November-February) offers the clearest skies.
Tickets are valid for your selected date and time slot only. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your booked time. Late cancellations are non-refundable. If you can't make your exact time, contact us — we can often shift to a later slot on the same day. Tickets cannot be transferred to another date without cancellation and rebooking. We recommend booking the sunset slot 2-3 days in advance as it's the most popular.
