This is a 3-hour experience in Bangkok. It is run by Bigcountry Experience Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese food tours work because the best places are small, unmarked and full of regulars, and a guide who orders for you opens them. An izakaya crawl covers yakitori, sashimi, karaage and the local pours of sake, shochu and highballs across three or four counters in an evening; a ramen walk explains the broths, tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and shio, and the regional styles. Most places seat eight to twelve and tours run six to eight guests for that reason. Vegetarians should say so when booking, because dashi stock is fish and hidden in almost everything; halal-certified options exist but are fewer.

Our experience was amazing! We booked this tour during low season and we were lucky enough to be the only two guests. Our tour guide, Nod, was incredibly kind and really took the time to show us around and tell us about the history and buildings of Chinatown. He picked the best spots, places we feel like we would never have found without him! He was also such a gentleman and even brought wet wipes/napkins for us, since you can’t always wash your hands when eating street food. Nod thought of every little detail and even helped us find our way back home afterwards. We never felt rushed while eat

The food tour was fantastic, especially as first timers to Bangkok. Nod, our tour guide, was amazing. We have one small complaint however. We got picked up by a driver from our hotel, for the private tour. He had limited English (which is fine) But when he dropped us at River City, he just told us to get out and when i asked. “Where do we go?” He just pointed at a random Tuk Tuk. We had no idea where to go. We stood there for 5 minutes trying to figure it out. Eventually i just called (lucky i had an eSIM) and they helped me figure out where to go. We had a very pleasant tour with our guide Nod. He gave us a lot of information about China Town in Bangkok and let us taste things we saw in the street market. The food was very good and fresh. The background information was usefull. We had a very lovely evening! Our children (10 and 15 years old) enjoyed is very much as well!
I would highly recommend this tour as it was a great opportunity to try Thai street food as we would have been too overwhelmed to work out which stalls to eat at (as there are so many options!). Tar was a such a lovely guide and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great experience, even organising for us to try mango sticky rice.
We had such a wonderful time exploring the city in the tuk tuks with our guide Kay. She brought us to some amazing food spots that really satisfied our taste buds. By the end of the evening, we were delivered back to our hotels feeling happy and completely full.
This was a great way to try new foods, make new friends, and have the adventure with the Tuk Tuk. Our guide and driver were fantastic. I am so full after trying all these wonderful Thai dishes. Some of the best food you will ever eat!
