Traveler Reviews
This guided tour of both the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort was perfectly planned. We started at the Taj Mahal where our guide explained the Islamic paradise garden concept and the significance of the four water channels. The marble inlay work is even more detailed up close than you would expect. At Agra Fort the guide connected the stories, showing us where Shah Jahan lived before and after the Taj was built. The Sheesh Mahal mirror palace was a highlight. Great comprehensive experience.
Excellent guided tour covering the two most important monuments in Agra. Our guide was a certified historian who brought the Mughal era to life. At the Taj Mahal he explained the symbolism of every element, from the cypress trees representing death to the lotus flowers representing life. At Agra Fort the Diwan-i-Am audience hall was impressive and the guide showed us how the acoustics were designed so the emperor could hear petitions from his throne. Very knowledgable and passionate guide.
Good combined tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The guide was professional and had extensive knowledge of both sites. The Taj Mahal portion was emotional, hearing the love story behind its construction. Agra Fort was impressive in scale but I felt we could have spent more time there as we only scratched the surface of such a huge complex. The guide was flexible about photo stops which I appreciated. Overall good value for covering both monuments.
Even as an Indian visiting from Bangalore, having a guided tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort was worth it. The guide knew details I had never heard before, like how the minarets are designed to fall outward away from the main tomb in case of earthquake. At Agra Fort he showed us the Jahangiri Mahal with its Hindu-style carvings and explained how each emperor modified the fort to suit his taste. The guided experience is definately superior to wandering around on your own.
Wonderful guided tour covering both of Agra's UNESCO World Heritage sites in one go. The Taj Mahal was breathtaking and our guide made it even better by pointing out the optical illusion where the Quran verses appear the same size from bottom to top even though they actually get larger. Agra Fort was a great complement, the red sandstone architecture contrasts beautifully with the Taj's white marble. Our guide was absolutley fantastic with his storytelling. Reccomend this combined tour.
