What a Dhow Cruise Actually Is
A dhow is a traditional wooden sailing boat historically used across the Gulf for fishing, pearling and trade, and today's Doha dhow cruises use boats built in that same style — often modernized with comfortable seating and shade canopies — for sightseeing trips across Doha Bay. The core route covers the Corniche's curve, the Museum of Islamic Art's island, and the West Bay skyline from the water, a genuinely different vantage point from any shore-based view in the city.
Most cruises depart from a dock along the Corniche near Souq Waqif, making them an easy add-on to a souq or Corniche visit on the same outing.
