Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Phuket. It is run by Bukit Elephant Park, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese cooking classes usually build a meal around dashi, the kombu and bonito stock that sits under miso soup, simmered dishes and noodle broths, and then one or two headline dishes: rolled sushi or nigiri, gyoza, tempura, okonomiyaki, or a bento box. Wagashi classes make the seasonal sweets served with tea from sweet bean paste. Most classes run two to three hours in a home kitchen or a small studio, and vegetarian versions replace the bonito with a kombu-shiitake dashi. You eat what you make, and Japanese teachers are precise about technique.

We had an incredible experience with Chef Jimmy! He is not only a fantastic chef but also a wonderful teacher, sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for traditional Thai cuisine. Thanks to Jimmy, we now feel confident preparing authentic Thai dishes at home. He truly made our day unforgettable. If you find yourself in the area, this is an absolute must-do! Don’t miss the chance to learn from Jimmy—you won’t regret it!
Jimmy is such an iconic instructor and we LOVED every second of it. He explains really well and his humor is great so you laugh a lot! The food was amazing and we were offered drinks and also some fruit. We even got to feed the Elephants before the Cooking Class. Our group was quite small with only 3 people which we loved. They also told us that they get some of their ingredients by the local people. All in all a perfect experience. But I would recommend to size down the portion size a bit because no one of us was able to eat everything❤️
the chef was very informative and made the activity fun. I went as a solo traveller and he helped me cook the food. the location was great and we even got to see and feed elephants at the start!
I had a real moment of sharing and exchange with the chef. He took the time to explain to me and answer my questions. He is kind! It was a good time for me. I recommend
I had the pleasure of a one on one class with the amazing Jimmy. He was so professional, extremely knowledgeable and great fun.
Unbelievable fun and educational would highly recommend it John England

Feeding the elephants beforehand was a lovely addition to the day. Would highly recommend this class, a great activity to embrace Thai cooking and culture.

If your looking for a Thai cooking class you HAVE to chose this one!!! Not only did we get to feed the elephants before hand but we had the most wholesome, interesting and fun time with Jimmy who taught us not only how to cook 3 popular Thai dishes but Also taught us about the history of the food itself. A must do activity, for an unforgettable experience!
