Full description

This is a 6-hour experience in Phuket, built around Phuket City, Big Buddha Phuket and Karon View Point. It is run by Patong Hill Tribe Elephant Village – Ethical Sanctuary, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

A private day with a driver-guide is the way to see the most of a Japanese city or region in one day, because it removes the transfers between sights that eat a third of the day on public transport. Prices are usually per vehicle for up to a set number of guests rather than per person, and cover the car, fuel, tolls and the guide; entrance fees and lunch are paid as you go unless the listing says otherwise. Japanese guides are licensed for the work and typically punctual to the minute. Give the operator your priorities, and expect them to reorder the day around opening hours and crowds; that is what you are paying for.

The price covers Visit to Karon Viewpoint, Visit to Big Buddha, Visit to Wat Chalong, Tour of Phuket Old Town and Visit to Ethical elephant sanctuary. It does not cover Personal expenses, Lunch and Tips and gratuities, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Kata Beach. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Patong Hill Tribe Elephant Village – Ethical Sanctuary before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

It was a fab day, the car was beautiful, air conditioning & comfortable. Our driver AEMBUT went out of the way to keep us to have a great day. Elephant experience was great , even the lunch location for foot and view was amazing…

Fantastic day out with our guide Dol. The elephant sanctuary was brilliant. First there at 8am and no-one else there. Just us and the elephants and their handlers. We learnt so much about these beautiful animals, prepared herbal vitamins and got so up close. fantastic. Dol was great, taking us to the other locations. A great day out with lots of variety. We'll worth it.

Bobo was an amazing tour guide. She was very respectful and answered all questions about the sanctuary, elephants, and provided additional knowledge about elephants, their life and how they arrived at the sanctuary. I was in a small group with only one other member. This made the experience very personal and made it feel private. We were able to make snacks for the elephants and walk around the park to observe and see the animals as they graze the property. The animals are well taken care of and this is a strictly ethical experience with no riding touching or bathing. This is what I was lookin

It was probably one of the most amazing things I have ever done, walking with the elephants, feeding them and petting them, It was truly a magical day, everyone should try it.

I saw elephants for the first time and really enjoyed feeding them! The guide teaches you to prepare food for them and explains how to behave around the elephants. The rest of the trip was good too. I would have probably liked more time in the old city (at least an hour). The journey was smooth and I was the only passenger, so it was like a private tour! Thank you for this experience!

The highlight was definitely the elephant visit! I got to prepare food and hike around searching for elephants, since they’re free to roam around the 100-acre property. You will get sweaty and dirty! The rest of the day was spent hitting Phuket’s main highlights for as long or short as I wanted. Definitely bring a change of clothes, including a long skirt for the temples.

My family & I absolutely loved visiting this ethical elephant sanctuary. It was memorable moment being able to prepare the elephants herbal food and feed them ourselves. The best part was seeing the elephants free to roam naturally, without chains or whips. You could really see the care and respect they receive. Such a beautiful and amazing experience that we’ll never forget. Thank you.

The elephants was pretty good myself and son did enjoy that . The tour guide was lovely The rest of the places weren’t worth it at all , packed out , the people at the entrance of Big Buddha were the rudest !I had the correct clothing and they made me buy a sarong and they put it on me and my shoulders and back was on show🤨 My clothes covered all definitely scam vibes . Old run down tatty only good thing was the views . Definitely a money grab I wouldn’t recommend it , if you did want to visit I’d say get a grab or bolt , I feel ripped off to be honest This trip was massively overpriced , lite

Fantastic trip, very helpful driver and great to see the different places. No one else was on the trip with us so it was like we had a private tour! The elephant sanctuary was amazing, such a memorable experience - we loved it. It was lovely to spend some time in the Old Town to get some souvenirs. Would definitely recommend this trip.

The dry season from November to April offers the best weather for island-hopping tours and beach activities. December to March is peak season with calm seas, perfect for Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay boat trips. May to October (monsoon) is quieter and cheaper but some boat tours may be affected by rough seas. See our Phuket travel guide for detailed month-by-month advice.
Phuket is one of Southeast Asia's safest tourist destinations with excellent infrastructure, friendly locals, and a strong tourist police presence. Standard precautions apply: use reputable transport, stay aware in crowded areas, and book verified tours through trusted platforms. For water activities, all our tours include safety equipment and experienced crew.
The top experiences include: the Phi Phi Islands for snorkeling and Maya Bay, Phang Nga Bay for dramatic limestone cliffs and James Bond Island, the Big Buddha for panoramic views, Wat Chalong temple, and the charming Phuket Old Town for street food and Sino-Portuguese architecture. See our things to do guide for the complete list.
Yes! Direct flights between Phuket and Bangkok take just 1 hour 20 minutes. We recommend 3–4 days in Phuket for island tours, then 2–3 days in Bangkok for temples, markets, and street food. Our local guides operate in both cities for seamless trip planning.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering water sports before booking any speedboat tour or island-hopping excursion. While all our boats carry safety equipment and licensed crews, Thai hospital costs can be significant without coverage. Ensure your policy covers emergency medical evacuation and water activity accidents.
