Eine kurze, günstige Buchung, die die zwei ärgerlichen Teile eines Taj-Besuchs löst: die Kasse, und vor dem berühmtesten Grabmal der Welt zu stehen, ohne zu wissen, was man ansieht.

Das Angebot führt sowohl den indischen als auch den ausländischen Tarif, und das ist beachtenswert: indische Staatsangehörige zahlen einen Bruchteil des Auslandspreises, und Ansässige oder OCI-Inhaber sollten die richtige Option buchen statt zu viel zu zahlen.

Was enthalten ist

Die Eintrittskarte zu Ihrem Tarif, und ein lizenzierter lokaler Guide, der Sie am Tor trifft. Wagen und Fahrer bei der umfassenderen Option.

Was niemand überspringen kann

Die Kontrolle. Jeder wird geprüft, und die Verbotsliste wird ohne Diskussion durchgesetzt: keine Stative, keine Drohnen, kein Essen, keine großen Taschen, keine Feuerzeuge. Telefone und kleine Kameras sind in Ordnung. Am Eingang gibt es Schließfächer.

Innen

Durch das Darwaza-i-Rauza, den großen Torbau aus rotem Sandstein, wo der Taj im Bogen erscheint und, bewusst so entworfen, beim Zugehen kleiner zu werden scheint.

Dann der Charbagh, der vierteilige Garten, von Wasserkanälen geteilt, mit dem Grabmal, das sich über die ganze Länge des Mittelbeckens spiegelt.

Am Sockel: die Kalligrafie am Hauptbogen, in wachsenden Größen geschnitten, damit sie vom Boden aus gleich hoch erscheint; die Pietra-dura-Einlagen aus Karneol, Jaspis, Lapis und Jade, manchmal sechzig Stücke in einer einzigen Blüte; und die vier Minarette, ganz leicht nach außen geneigt, damit ein Erdbeben sie vom Grabmal weg fallen ließe.

In der Kammer das geschnitzte Jali-Gitter und die zwei Kenotaphe, die echten Gräber sind in der Krypta darunter versiegelt, und die eine Asymmetrie der ganzen Komposition: Shah Jahans eigenes Grab, von seinem Sohn außerhalb der Mitte gesetzt.

Taj Mahal bezoek met Faizan was prima geregeld. Het was aan het onweren en onze gids stelde voor om het een beetje uit te stellen voor een minder natte ervaring.
