La tarifa de solo guía es la útil si tiene coche y conductor para su viaje por la India y simplemente necesita a alguien autorizado en la puerta.
Sin colas
En las opciones con entrada, el acceso está gestionado por adelantado y va al carril en lugar de a la taquilla, lo que en temporada ahorra casi una hora.
El control de seguridad es para todos: sin trípodes, sin drones, sin comida, sin bolsas grandes, sin mecheros. Hay taquillas en la puerta.
Taj Mahal
Shah Jahan lo empezó en 1632, el año siguiente a la muerte de Mumtaz Mahal al dar a luz a su decimocuarto hijo. Veinte mil obreros, veintidós años, y mármol blanco acarreado 400 km desde Makrana, en Rajastán.
Para qué está el guía: la caligrafía del gran arco, labrada en letras cada vez más grandes para que desde el suelo cada línea se lea a la misma altura, y firmada, cosa poco habitual, por el calígrafo Amanat Khan; las incrustaciones de pietra dura, donde una sola flor puede llevar sesenta piezas de cornalina, jaspe, lapislázuli y jade; los cuatro alminares, cada uno inclinado mínimamente hacia fuera para que un terremoto los dejara caer lejos de la tumba; y el truco óptico de la gran puerta, donde el edificio parece encogerse a medida que uno se acerca.
Y la única asimetría deliberada en una composición simétrica al milímetro: el cenotafio de Shah Jahan, colocado fuera del eje central por Aurangzeb.
El Fuerte de Agra
En las opciones más completas: la ciudad de arenisca roja de Akbar, de 1565, con los palacios de mármol de Shah Jahan dentro, y el Musamman Burj, donde Aurangzeb tuvo preso a su padre ocho años con el Taj a la vista río abajo.
Práctico
