Muchas visitas al Taj se quedan en la plataforma. Esta entra: la cámara funeraria con los cenotafios y las celosías de mármol talladas, que es donde la artesanía está más cerca y donde el edificio deja de ser una silueta y se convierte en una sala.
Qué cubre la visita
La Gran Puerta y esa primera vista encuadrada. Los jardines charbagh divididos por canales de agua, trazados como una representación del paraíso. La plataforma de mármol, los cuatro minaretes con su inclinación deliberada hacia fuera, y el interior del mausoleo.
Dentro, las celosías jali que rodean los cenotafios están talladas en bloques únicos de mármol, un enrejado lo bastante fino para ver a través, esculpido y no ensamblado. La marquetería de los propios cenotafios es la más densa del edificio.
Tu guía cubre la construcción, los materiales y de dónde vinieron, y la asimetría deliberada del cenotafio de Shah Jahan junto al de su esposa, la única ruptura en un edificio por lo demás perfectamente equilibrado.
