El Taj Mahal al amanecer. Sales de Delhi de noche para estar en la puerta cuando abre. La primera hora tiene una fracción de la gente y el mármol cambia de color de verdad según llega la luz.
El fuerte de Agra, arenisca roja por fuera y mármol por dentro, donde el Diwan-i-Am, el palacio de Jahangir y el Musamman Burj quedan en un mismo recorrido. En esa torre tuvo preso a Shah Jahan su hijo, mirando al otro lado del río hacia el Taj.
Itimad-ud-Daulah, el Baby Taj, construido por Nur Jahan para su padre dos décadas antes que el Taj. Es el primer edificio mogol revestido por completo de mármol blanco con incrustaciones, lo bastante pequeño para examinarlo de cerca, y casi siempre vacío.
