El Taj Mahal y el fuerte de Agra están a diez minutos uno de otro y juntos cuentan una sola historia, y por eso hacerlos de una tirada tiene más sentido que repartirlos en dos días.
La ruta
Recogida en el hotel o el aeropuerto dentro de Agra, en coche privado climatizado. Primero el Taj Mahal, temprano si aceptas el consejo, con entrada sin colas y un guía autorizado por el gobierno que cubre la incrustación de pietra dura, la caligrafía y la historia de la construcción.
Después el fuerte de Agra. Es el que muchos dan por hecho que es una versión menor del Taj, y no lo es: es una fortaleza en uso de arenisca roja con palacios de mármol dentro, y el Musamman Burj, la torre octogonal donde Shah Jahan pasó sus últimos ocho años preso de su hijo Aurangzeb, mira directamente al otro lado del Yamuna hacia la tumba que construyó para su esposa. Estar de pie ahí es lo que hace que el Taj cale de verdad.
