Agra desde Mumbai, en dos días

De Mumbai a Agra hay unos 1.200 km. En tren es un día en cada sentido; en avión son dos horas, lo que hace realista un fin de semana. Este paquete cubre los vuelos, el transporte sobre el terreno, un guía autorizado y la noche.

Primer día

Vuelo al norte hasta Delhi, y luego un coche privado con aire acondicionado por la Yamuna Expressway, tres horas y media.

El Fuerte de Agra por la tarde. Más una ciudad amurallada que un fuerte: dos kilómetros y medio de muralla de arenisca roja empezados por Akbar en 1565, con los palacios de mármol de Shah Jahan dentro, el Diwan-i-Am, el Khas Mahal, la casa de baños Sheesh Mahal.

Y el Musamman Burj, la torre octogonal en la muralla del río donde Aurangzeb tuvo preso a su propio padre los últimos ocho años de su vida, con el Taj visible a lo largo del agua. Shah Jahan murió allí y lo llevaron al otro lado para enterrarlo junto a Mumtaz.

Segundo día: amanecer

El Taj Mahal cuando abren las puertas, media hora antes del sol. El mármol se lee gris, luego rosa, luego blanco; en invierno hay niebla sobre el río detrás de la cúpula, y la gente a esa hora es una quinta parte de la que habrá a las diez.
