Trois sites, une voiture, un guide. C'est l'itinéraire qui couvre vraiment l'Agra moghole plutôt que le Taj seul, et six heures en est la durée honnête.

Taj Mahal

Avec entrée en accès rapide, ce qui vous met dans la file la plus courte à la porte. Le contrôle de sécurité s'applique quand même : pas de trépied, pas de drone, pas de nourriture, pas de grands sacs.

Shah Jahan l'a commencé en 1632, l'année suivant la mort de Mumtaz Mahal. Vingt-deux ans, vingt mille ouvriers, du marbre acheminé sur 400 km depuis Makrana.

Votre guide signalera ce qui échappe facilement : la calligraphie gravée en lettres de plus en plus grandes pour se lire d'une hauteur égale depuis en bas, les fleurs de pietra dura portant chacune des dizaines de pierres incrustées, les minarets inclinés vers l'extérieur pour tomber loin du tombeau en cas de séisme, et la seule rupture de la symétrie, le cénotaphe de Shah Jahan, ajouté hors du centre par son fils Aurangzeb.

Le fort d'Agra

Le fort de grès rouge d'Akbar, 1565, avec les palais de marbre de Shah Jahan à l'intérieur : le Diwan-i-Am, le Khas Mahal, et le Musamman Burj où Aurangzeb a enfermé son père huit ans, avec une vue le long du fleuve jusqu'au Taj.

Itimad-ud-Daulah, le Baby Taj

Celui que les visiteurs sautent et que les guides adorent. Nur Jahan l'a fait construire pour son père entre 1622 et 1628 : le premier édifice moghol entièrement en marbre et le premier usage de la pietra dura en Inde. Il est plus petit que le Taj et plus finement travaillé, et il est presque toujours vide.

Sans lui, le Taj n'aurait pas l'aspect qu'il a.

We took the tour with Danish and were very happy with our choice. The communication went smoothly and he picked us up right at the parking area with a golf cart. He was very knowledgeable, told us about the history and answered all our questions. He was also a very skilled photographer 😉 No need to Book the official photographer's at Taj Mahal. Our guide knew the best photo locations and snapped very nice pictures of us. He always made sure we are well and we never felt rushed. We would recommend any time.
