Le Taj vu de l'eau, ce que presque personne ne fait.
Le Taj a été conçu pour être abordé depuis la rivière. Du temps de Shah Jahan, les invités arrivaient en bateau sur la Yamuna, et la façade côté fleuve, celle dont le grand socle s'élève depuis la berge, était la première vue prévue. L'entrée par la route et la Grande Porte n'ont pris de l'importance que plus tard.
Cette visite vous remet sur l'eau. Une petite embarcation vous emmène le long du tronçon situé derrière le monument, ce qui vous donne l'édifice sous l'angle pour lequel il a été bâti, et une série de photographies que presque aucun autre visiteur ne rapporte.

Le Taj est fermé le vendredi, mais la balade en bateau a tout de même lieu.
La rivière dépend de la saison. Après une mousson faible, la Yamuna peut être assez basse pour que le tronçon navigable soit court ou indisponible, et les mois qui précèdent la mousson sont les pires pour le niveau d'eau. Nous confirmons les conditions avant votre date.
Le coucher du soleil est le meilleur moment pour la vue depuis la rivière, avec la lumière derrière vous et sur le marbre.
L'entrée pour les ressortissants étrangers est de 1 100 ₹ plus 200 ₹ pour la plateforme du mausolée.
