Lors de cette visite d'une journée complète, vous explorerez les deux monuments historiques en une journée, en partant de la ville d'Agra.

Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri est un magnifique complexe de palais moghol construit par l'empereur Akbar au XVIe siècle. À l'intérieur du monument, vous visiterez des structures célèbres telles que la Jami Masjid, Buland Darwaza, le tombeau de Sheikh Salim Chishti, Khass Mahal, Panch Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am, Anup Talao, Khwabgah, Mina Bazaar, et Chaupar.

L'empereur Akbar (1556-1605), petit-fils de Babur, déplaça sa capitale d'Agra à Sikri de 1572 à 1585 pour honorer le célèbre saint soufi Sheikh Salim Chishti, qui le bénit d'un fils, plus tard nommé Salim (empereur Jahangir). Akbar avait un grand respect pour le saint, et la ville devint un centre important de la culture et de l'architecture moghole.

Fort d'Agra

Le fort d'Agra est un fort impressionnant en grès rouge et marbre blanc, présentant la plus belle architecture moghole. Le fort a une disposition semi-circulaire et est entouré de murs doubles massifs qui s'étendent sur environ 2,5 km de périmètre et s'élèvent à près de 70 pieds de hauteur.

Le fort a quatre portes : la porte de Delhi, la porte d'Amar Singh, Hathi Pol, et la porte de Ghazni. Parmi elles, la porte de Delhi était la grande entrée cérémonielle utilisée par l'empereur Akbar.

We had a wonderful day with Jitu visiting Fatepur Sikrit and Agra Fort. Hè was very helpful, everything went very smoothly and most important: he had a lot of knowledge of these impressie monument and their histories. Lunch was in a very good restaurant Salt Café, that he recommended to us. Again we vere very happy to have Jitu as a guide for the day.
