No car, no bundled fort, no lunch. A licensed guide meets you at the complex, gets you past the ticket queue, and walks you through the whole site properly over two and a half hours.
This is the option if your hotel is already near the East or West gate, or if you have arranged your own transport and only want the guiding.
What the walk covers
The forecourt and the Great Gate, where the dome appears framed in the arch and the whole composition is designed to reveal itself at once. The charbagh, the four-part garden divided by water channels, and why the reflecting pool sits where it does. The marble platform, the minarets with their deliberate outward lean, and the mausoleum interior with the cenotaphs and the carved jali screens.
Your guide also handles photographs, which sounds minor and is not: they know the angles, the timing and where to stand, and you get pictures of yourself rather than a phone handed to a stranger.
