Mumbai to the Taj and home the same night.
It is 1,150 km each way, so this runs on flights. You leave Mumbai early, fly to Delhi, drive down to Agra, see the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with a guide, and fly back that evening. No hotel, no second day of leave.
How the day runs
Pickup from your address in Mumbai for the morning flight. A private air-conditioned car meets you at Delhi and takes the Yamuna Expressway to Agra, roughly three hours. Your guide covers the Taj Mahal properly, including the pietra dura inlay, the calligraphy that is sized to read evenly from the ground, and the minarets that lean fractionally outward so they would fall away from the tomb. Then Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan spent his last years confined by his son with a clear view across the river to the Taj he had built.
