Your private driver picks you up from your Phuket hotel around 8:00 AM for the scenic drive to Phang Nga. Board your own private longtail boat for a 4-hour cruise through the dramatic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay.

First stop: the iconic James Bond Island (Ko Tapu), made famous by "The Man with the Golden Gun." Swim in the emerald waters, snap photos of the famous needle rock, and optionally explore hidden mangrove caves by kayak. Continue by boat to Koh Panyi, a remarkable Muslim fishing village built entirely on stilts over the sea. Enjoy a buffet lunch here with fresh seafood while watching daily life unfold on the water.

After the boat tour, drive to Wat Suwan Khuha — a stunning cave temple housing a 15-meter reclining Buddha and one of Thailand's most unique religious sites. End the day at Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, a hidden gem offering breathtaking panoramic views over Phang Nga Bay's countless limestone islands. Return to your hotel by early evening.

Having our own longtail boat made all the difference. We lingered at James Bond Island long after the big groups left, then our boatman took us right into the mangrove caves by kayak. The stilted village at Koh Panyi felt like stepping into another world, and the buffet lunch was far better than we expected. A brilliant, relaxed day.

Booked this for my wife's birthday and it delivered. Driver arrived dead on eight, car was spotless with cold water waiting. The reclining Buddha cave was a surprise highlight nobody warns you about. Ending at Samet Nangshe for sunset over all those limestone islands was genuinely one of the best views I've seen in Thailand.

A wonderful private tour but be honest with yourself about the length. It really is eleven hours and the drive to the pier is long each way. That said, having no strangers on the boat was worth it, and the kids adored swimming near Ko Tapu. Just start early and pace your energy for the sunset climb at the end.

Everything ran like clockwork. The four hours on the private longtail let us stop wherever we wanted for photos of the karsts. Koh Panyi was fascinating, a whole Muslim fishing community floating on the water. The climb to the viewpoint is steep and I was sweating, but the panorama at sunset made every step worth it.

As a solo traveller I loved having the flexibility of a private car and boat. The team accommodated my vegetarian request at the Koh Panyi buffet without any fuss. Monkeys greeted us at the cave temple, which was funny and slightly chaotic. Smooth seas in November too, so the longtail ride was calm and beautiful the whole way.

Ten out of ten for the pace. We never felt herded. James Bond Island is touristy, sure, but with our own boat we timed it well and it was gorgeous. The reclining Buddha inside the limestone cave was unexpectedly moving. Our driver was patient and knowledgeable, and dropped us back to the hotel exactly as promised. Would book again.

Beautiful scenery and a proper private experience, though the midday heat on the exposed longtail was intense, so pack extra sun cover. James Bond Island did get crowded with other boats around lunchtime. Still, Samet Nangshe at golden hour was magical and the whole day felt personal rather than a factory-line group trip. Lovely driver too.

This tour packs so much into one day yet never feels rushed because it's just your party. Swimming at the needle rock, kayaking under the cliffs, the floating village lunch, the temple, and finishing on that hilltop for sunset. Great value for a fully private car and boat. My teenagers, usually hard to impress, were genuinely wowed.

Frequently Asked Questions

You get a fully private car with driver and hotel pickup/drop-off from Phuket, a 4-hour private longtail boat tour through Phang Nga Bay, a buffet lunch at Koh Panyi floating village, and all entry fees for Wat Suwan Khuha cave temple and the Samet Nangshe viewpoint. Drinking water is provided in the car. It's the full James Bond Island, Koh Panyi and sunset circuit with no group sharing.
This is an 11-hour day tour with pickup from your Phuket hotel at around 8:00 AM. The long duration is intentional — it lets you enjoy the bay at a relaxed pace and stay out for the Samet Nangshe sunset rather than rushing back. Expect to return to your hotel in the mid-to-late evening depending on your accommodation's location.
It's 100% private — your own car, your own driver, and your own private longtail boat. There's no group sharing at any point, so you set the pace at each stop. If you'd prefer a livelier shared-boat experience, the James Bond Island speedboat tour with canoeing and lunch is a faster group alternative.
James Bond Island sits in Phang Nga Bay, northeast of Phuket, so the scenic drive to the Phang Nga pier takes roughly 1.5 hours each way. The private longtail then cruises out to Ko Tapu. This is why the day runs to 11 hours — but the drive is comfortable in a private air-conditioned car with water provided.
Yes — kayaking through the hidden mangrove sea caves near James Bond Island is available as an optional add-on at the island. It's a wonderful way to glide beneath the limestone karsts, though it isn't part of the core private-boat itinerary and may carry a small extra local charge. Let your driver or boatman know if you'd like to arrange it on the day.
Lunch is a buffet at Koh Panyi, a remarkable Muslim fishing village built on stilts over the water. As a Muslim community the food is halal, and there are usually vegetable, rice and noodle dishes suitable for vegetarians. If you have specific dietary needs or allergies, tell us at booking so we can flag it to the village restaurant in advance.
Yes — because it's private, the pace suits families and older guests well, with plenty of boat time and only light walking. Do note there are steps and uneven ground at Wat Suwan Khuha cave temple and at the Samet Nangshe viewpoint, and getting in and out of the longtail boat requires a bit of balance. Children love the floating village and the swim stop at James Bond Island.
Yes, you can swim in the emerald water around Ko Tapu, so bring swimwear and a towel. Conditions are usually calm inside the sheltered bay. Keep in mind it's a famous spot, so the beach area near the needle rock can get busy with other longtails around midday — your private boat lets you time it a little better than group tours.
Samet Nangshe involves a short but fairly steep climb on steps and a rough path to reach the panoramic platform overlooking the karst islands. It takes only about 10–15 minutes but can feel warm and sweaty, so wear supportive shoes and bring water. The reward is one of the finest sunset views in all of Phang Nga Bay.
Pack swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for the boat, plus comfortable shoes with grip for the temple steps and the viewpoint climb. For Wat Suwan Khuha cave temple, bring something to cover shoulders and knees out of respect, as it's an active Buddhist site. A light rain layer is smart during the May–October green season.
Phuket's dry season, roughly November to April, offers the calmest seas and clearest skies for the longtail cruise and sunset. The green season (May–October) is quieter and lush but can bring afternoon showers and occasionally choppier water. Because this runs to sunset, checking the day's weather with us beforehand is worthwhile whatever the month.
Absolutely — Wat Suwan Khuha is a limestone cave temple housing a large reclining Buddha, with monkeys often around the entrance. It's an atmospheric, uniquely Thai contrast to the boat portion of the day and entry is already included in your tour. Dress modestly and mind your belongings around the resident macaques.
This private longtail focuses on the classic James Bond Island, Koh Panyi and sunset circuit at your own pace. For an evening variation, the James Bond Island and bioluminescent plankton private longtail tour runs after dark, while the Phi Phi Islands premium catamaran tour with Maya Bay heads to a completely different set of islands for snorkeling.
Simply choose your date and number of travelers and book online — you'll receive a confirmation with pickup details, and we'll ask for your Phuket hotel name and room number to arrange the morning collection. Because it's a private tour, we coordinate directly with you on timing. Reach out anytime before your date if plans change.
Plans change, and we aim to keep things flexible — most bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour start time for a full refund. Since this is a private tour that reserves a dedicated car and boat for you, late cancellations within 24 hours may not be refundable.
