Ashwin was an amazing guide, he was very knowledgeable about the mahals, museums, and art. He also took great photos of me and my boyfriend at every location. Shakir was wonderful as well - he drove safely and even suggested a great lunch spot. They did not insist on taking us to any shopping centers where we would be pressured to make purchases, which was appreciated. 10/10 recommend this tour, especially with Ashwin and Shakir!

Worth every penny for the private experience. Just us and our guide, no waiting for other tourists, no rushing. We could linger at Amber Fort as long as we wanted and skip things that didnt interest us. The guide tailored everything to our interests (we love architecture) and went really deep on the Rajput building techniques. Absolutley the best tour we did in India.

Private tour was the right call for our honeymoon. The guide was discrete and gave us space for photos together but was there whenever we had questions. Covered Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and he added a stop at Albert Hall Museum which wasnt originally planned but we had time. Very flexible and accomodating. Would book again without hesitation.

Perfetto! The private guide picked us up from our haveli hotel in the old city and we spent the whole day exploring. He knew secret viewpoints and quiet corners that the group tours miss completley. At Amber Fort he took us through some rooms that most tourists walk right past. The personal attention makes a huge diffrence. Highly recommend for couples or small families.

Really good private tour. Guide was waiting at our hotel with a welcome sign which was a nice touch. Full day covering all the major sites plus some smaller temples I wouldnt have found on my own. Only reason for 4 stars is the car could have been a bit newer, the AC took a while to get cold. But the guide himself was excellent, 10/10.

Frequently Asked Questions

The private full-day Jaipur tour covers the complete Pink City circuit in a dedicated vehicle with a private guide: Amber Fort (2 hours, UNESCO Heritage, with Sheesh Mahal), Jaigarh Fort (45 minutes, world's largest wheeled cannon, panoramic views), City Palace (1 hour, royal museum with silver urns and textile collections), Jantar Mantar (45 minutes, UNESCO Heritage astronomical observatory), Hawa Mahal (45 minutes, exterior and interior), and Nahargarh Fort at sunset (45 minutes, the best viewpoint over the pink city rooftops). Optional additions: Sisodia Rani Garden, the Jaipur bazaars (Johari Bazaar for jewellery, Bapu Bazaar for textiles), and Galtaji Temple (the 'Monkey Temple' in a forested gorge). The private format ensures all timing and emphasis are exclusively determined by your preferences.
A private full-day Jaipur tour provides fundamentally different quality versus a shared group tour: your guide's attention is undivided; you determine how long to spend at each site (spend 45 minutes in the Sheesh Mahal instead of the group's allocated 10 minutes); the vehicle is exclusively yours throughout; you can add or substitute sites based on your interests; meal timing and restaurant choice are flexible; and the guide tailors historical depth to your level of interest. Group tours are necessarily generic — a private guide can spend 20 minutes explaining the specific astronomical instrument that interests you at Jantar Mantar without considering 25 other people's patience. Private tours are consistently rated superior by returning travellers who have experienced both formats.
Yes — a Ministry of Tourism-licensed guide is included for the full day. The guide accompanies you at every site, provides complete historical commentary, manages all entry ticketing, and coordinates the vehicle transitions. For Jaipur, the guide's specialization in Rajput and Mughal-Rajput history is what makes the difference: understanding that Amber Fort's Rajput commanders served as Akbar's chief generals while simultaneously maintaining their own royal court transforms a beautiful fort into a window onto a complex political relationship between two of India's greatest historical cultures. The guide is a local Jaipur specialist — not a Delhi guide who occasionally covers Jaipur.
Nahargarh Fort ('Tiger Fort') is a hilltop fortress built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, forming part of Jaipur's defensive ring along with Amber and Jaigarh forts. Its primary tourism value today is as Jaipur's finest sunset viewpoint — from the fort's battlements, the entire Jaipur city spreads below, the pink facades of old city buildings turning golden-orange in the setting sun, while in the other direction the Aravalli hills create a dramatic natural backdrop. The fort also contains the Madhavendra Bhawan — a 9-room palace with well-preserved frescoes. Nahargarh is less visited than Amber Fort (meaning no large crowds at sunset) and the 360-degree panorama is genuinely spectacular. Your guide ensures arrival at the ideal time for the best light.
The complete private full-day tour runs 8–9 hours from hotel pickup to hotel drop-off: 8:30–9:00 AM pickup, Amber Fort (2 hours), Jaigarh Fort (45 minutes), return to city (30 minutes drive), City Palace (1 hour), Jantar Mantar (45 minutes), lunch (1 hour), Hawa Mahal (45 minutes), Nahargarh Fort sunset (45 minutes, around 5:00–5:30 PM), return to hotel (6:30–7:00 PM). The timing is designed around the best light at each monument — Amber Fort in morning light, Nahargarh at golden hour sunset. Neither can be easily rearranged without losing significant photographic quality.
Yes — a sit-down lunch at a quality Jaipur restaurant is included. Jaipur is an excellent food city: the signature dal baati churma (baked wheat dumplings with five-lentil broth), Laal Maas (fiery red Rajasthani mutton curry), and Rajasthani thali (a complete meal plate with 10–15 small dishes) are available at the guide's recommended restaurants. For a premium lunch experience, several Jaipur rooftop restaurants with views of the Pink City are available — your guide recommends based on your preference. Vegetarian, vegan, Jain, and halal options are available at all included restaurants.
Yes — the Jaipur bazaar walk can be included in the private full-day tour as an afternoon addition (approximately 1 hour after the main monument circuit). Jaipur is India's best city for buying: gemstones and jewellery (Johari Bazaar — Jaipur is the world's largest gemstone cutting centre, and kundan/meenakari jewellery is made here); block-printed textiles (Sanganer village fabrics); blue pottery (a distinctive Jaipur craft using quartz powder, not clay); leather footwear (Mojris — traditional Rajasthani leather slippers); and quilts and bedspreads (kantha and block-print). Your guide takes you to reliable artisan workshops rather than tourist commission shops.
Yes — the private Jaipur tour operates year-round. October to March is the most comfortable season (cool days, clear skies). December–January is peak tourist season; Amber Fort and City Palace are at their most crowded at midday — starting early (8:30 AM) avoids the worst congestion. April–June is hot (38–45°C); the guide structures the day to complete outdoor sites (Amber Fort, Jaigarh) before 11 AM and schedule the air-conditioned City Palace and enclosed Jantar Mantar instruments for midday. July–September (monsoon): Jaipur and Rajasthan receive less rain than the Ganges plain; the Aravalli hills turn briefly green; fort waterfalls run — an unusual perspective with fewer tourists.
Comfortable, breathable cotton clothing is essential. Jaipur's climate is dry and can be significantly hotter than Delhi. Modest dress is recommended at all heritage sites. Comfortable walking shoes are critical — you walk approximately 5–8 km total across the day on various surfaces (Amber Fort's cobblestone ramps and stairs, City Palace's marble and sandstone floors, Jantar Mantar's stone platforms). A sun hat and sunscreen are essential from March onwards. In winter (December–February), a light jacket is useful for the Nahargarh Fort sunset (temperatures drop quickly after sunset in Jaipur's desert climate). Women should carry a stole or dupatta for entering the Amber Fort's Hindu temple sanctuaries.
The private tour includes Nahargarh Fort as the primary sunset viewpoint — and it is genuinely Jaipur's finest. From Nahargarh's battlements at 5:00–5:45 PM, the entire Pink City spreads below in a panoramic vista, the terracotta-pink buildings turning golden-orange in the setting sun while the Aravalli hills create a dramatic natural frame. However, two alternative sunset options can be substituted based on your preference: Jaigarh Fort offers a more remote, less-visited sunset experience with views over Amber Fort and the Maota Lake below — particularly atmospheric and significantly quieter than Nahargarh. Amer Palace stepwell area (Panna Meena Ka Kund) provides a unique ground-level sunset ambiance in a geometric stepwell setting. For photography enthusiasts, your guide can also arrange a rooftop café sunset in the old city with Hawa Mahal or City Palace illuminated as the backdrop — several heritage rooftop restaurants offer this experience. Discuss your sunset preference with the guide in the morning so the day's timing can be optimized. For an evening continuation, our heritage walk and street food tour captures the Pink City's magical post-sunset bazaar atmosphere.
Amber Fort is located 11 km from Jaipur city center, about a 20-minute drive. When you book a guided tour through AsiaByLocals, round-trip transportation from your hotel is included. You can also take an elephant or jeep ride up to the fort entrance.
Modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is recommended for temple visits. Comfortable walking shoes are essential as forts like Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort involve significant walking on stone pathways. Carry sunscreen and water, especially during summer months.
Yes, all three can be covered in a full-day guided tour. Our Jaipur city tours are designed to cover these major attractions efficiently with an experienced local guide who knows the best routes and timing to avoid crowds.
