Der tiefste Stufenbrunnen Indiens, und fast niemand fährt hin.

Der Chand Baori in Abhaneri sind 3.500 Stufen in dreizehn Geschossen perfekter Doppellauf-Geometrie, die etwa zwanzig Meter in den Boden fallen. Er wurde zwischen dem achten und neunten Jahrhundert gebaut, und er funktioniert: das Wasser am Boden bleibt mehrere Grad kühler als die Oberfläche, was in einer Wüste der ganze Sinn war.

Am oberen Rand zu stehen ist wirklich verwirrend. Die Stufen sind so genau geschnitten, dass sich das Muster fast wie eine optische Täuschung liest, und Fotos bereiten einen nicht auf den Maßstab vor. Er liegt etwa 95 km von Jaipur an der Straße nach Agra, weshalb die meisten Routen ihn weglassen und weshalb es dort meist ruhig ist.

Daneben steht der Harshat-Mata-Tempel, stark beschädigt, aber mit Steinmetzarbeit, die die zehn Minuten noch wert ist.

Galtaji, der Affentempel, liegt in einer Schlucht in den Hügeln auf der Jaipur-Seite. Natürliche Quellen füllen eine Reihe heiliger Becken, die in den Fels geschlagen sind, Pilger baden darin, und mehrere hundert Makaken leben um die Anlage. Achtzehntes Jahrhundert, rosa Sandstein, und die Lage tut das Meiste.
