Jaipur: Blockdruck-Workshop und praktische Erfahrung

It was an amazing experience, our guide, Monty, was informative and helpful! We learned a lot and got our own pieces to take home!

The experience was pleasant, interesting and a great way to learn about the traditional art of block printing while creating our own handmade piece. There was a good choice of items to decorate, including an apron, table runner, tote bag and breakfast placemat, so everyone could choose something they liked. Both the person responsible for the activity and all the staff were extremely helpful and supportive throughout the whole experience, guiding us whenever needed and making the activity enjoyable and easy to follow. We definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover a beautiful Indian tradition and take home a unique, handmade souvenir!

Absolutely brilliant! A MUST if you are in Jaipur. So well organised, ethical factory and such a fun experience. A highlight of India! DO IT.

This was so much fun as well as educational. On the tour of the factory we saw such skill in operation plus we had a history of block printing. My daughter and I tried our best and loved the experience and are delighted with our apron and table runner. I have huge respect for what the whole team do, I was delighted by my much less skillful creation!

Such a nice way to spend the time finishing off our trip to Jaipur and have a lovely table runner to show. The time was perfectly judged between educating on the history of block printing in Jaipur and practical on how this industry still survives in an age of mass production. Such a unique insight into an art form. Loved every minute and would thoroughly recommend.

The block printing workshop was hands down the best thing we did in Jaipur. Monty has an absolute wealth of knowledge, teaching us about the process & history of block printing, as well as suggesting great restaurants and places to visit on our travels. We found other experiences we booked to not quite be what they appeared when booking, but this experience was smooth, fun and professional. We couldn’t recommend highly enough.

This was a fascinating way to spend our morning and so much fun for my boys too, thanks so much Monty. We were shown all the different areas of the workshop and had the history of this artisan industry explained to us in detail. Then It was our turn to have a go ourselves! The team were extremely knowledgeable and patient and the boys loved creating their elephant print tote bags using the traditional block printing method. We were thoroughly looked after and had a brilliant time so glad we chose this activity :)

Was really impressed with Monty and his team at the block printing workshop. There were a lot of print options to choose from and the long scarf I took away I was really pleased with. Monty’s knowledge of the industry was second to none and amazing to hear its origins. It was fascinating to watch the team work, the level of concentration and amount they can complete in a day was amazing. Was really good to try block printing myself also - really made me appreciate their skill (& my lack of!) - luckily the amazing team were on hand to help and make sure my scarf turned out fabulously! Highly recommend

Wow! What an excellent experience! We were shown around a working block printing workshop by Monty our host, having been picked up from our hotel by the arranged transfer. He described the process of block printing - the blocks, the colours, the technique, and we saw some block printers at work. He was very personable, very knowledgeable and a really genuine guy. Then the fun really begun - our own block printing - a three coloured tote bag for my wife and an apron for myself. We chose our choice of printing materials (you could also have chosen some napkins or a scarf from memory), the designs and the colours from a pre-mixed selection. Monty and one of the workshop workers helped us and we were thrilled both with the experience and the end product. Great host, great fun, great experience - one we would definitely do again ! This was an amazing opportunity to try out a local art form, learn the background behind the techniques and watch the craftsmen at work. I was really well looked after by all the guides who had great knowledge to share. It was lovely to be able to try a local art form and take the printing away as a souvenir. In addition my driver was efficient and safe.
