Eine kurze, fokussierte Tour zu zwei Stätten in den Aravalli-Hügeln östlich von Jaipur, für die fast kein Tagestour-Reiseplan Zeit hat.
Galta Ji
Ein Tempelkomplex, eingeklemmt in eine Schlucht in den Hügeln, zehn Kilometer von der Altstadt entfernt. Natürliche Quellen fließen durch eine Reihe von Steinbecken, der Galta Kund oben ist nie bekannt dafür, auszutrocknen, und Pilger baden dort seit Jahrhunderten.
Die Gebäude sind aus rosafarbenem Sandstein des 18. Jahrhunderts mit bemalten Innenräumen, die so verblassen, dass es sich jetzt lohnt, sie zu sehen. Der Komplex ist in den Felsen gebaut statt darauf, deshalb fühlt sich das Ganze versteckt an, bis man drinnen ist.
Über die Affen
Zwei Truppen leben hier, Rhesusaffen und Languren, daher der Spitzname.
Es sind Wildtiere. Halten Sie kein Essen in der Hand, strecken Sie kein Telefon über eine Mauer, und nehmen Sie die Sonnenbrille vom Kopf. Befolgen Sie das, und sie werden Sie vollständig ignorieren.
Surya-Tempel
Auf dem Grat über dem Komplex, der Sonne gewidmet und zum Sonnenaufgang gerichtet, erreicht über einen Fußweg den Schluchtpfad hinauf.
Von dort oben liegt die ganze Stadt darunter, und zu beiden Tagesrandzeiten ist es einer der besten Aussichtspunkte in Jaipur, mit fast niemandem dort.
Der Weg ist an Stellen steil und die Mühe wert.
Was erwartet wird
Schuhe aus an den Tempeln, Schultern und Knie bedeckt. Keine Fotografie innerhalb der Schreine. Ledergürtel und -taschen bleiben am besten im Auto.
Es ist eine aktive Pilgerstätte statt ein Denkmal, und Sie könnten eine Puja oder ein Bad-Ritual im Gange finden. Ihr Guide wird Ihnen sagen, wo Sie stehen sollen.

all was great. The trip was perfect , the guide is perfectly speaking English. He told us many interesting things and historical facts. that was a very nice trip.
Abhi and Eddie were extremely knowledgeable and gave a great overview of the history of Jaipur. The tour was absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend it enough - by far my highlight of Jaipur! We started with the sun temple - the local people were really welcoming and made me feel at home. The views over the city were stunning and I took some incredible pictures of the monkeys! We then walked on to Galta ji temple where there were even more incredible views! The scenery and buildings were unbelievable. I took some amazing pictures but you have to be there to really experience it! This was an absolutely amazing trip and I can’t recommend this enough to anyone visiting Jaipur! I wish I’d booked Abhi and Eddie for the rest of my time in Jaipur but I’m so glad I found them. Communication was excellent throughout and incredibly reassuring. Abhi and Eddie are naturally extremely friendly people and this father and son team really made me feel at home. Can’t thank you guys enough!
Probably my favorite place in Jaipur, this tour had a little bit of everything, I enjoyed this a lot, my guide Eddie, he is full of energy, full of great attitude and always answering all my doubts and questions, we did some local rituals with priests, we saw some playful monkeys, the temples were incredible, the nature, the atmosphere, the locals bathing in holy water and it doesn’t take but two hours of your day, BEST. TOUR. IN. JAIPUR.
It was a small hike through the mountains to the monkey temple. There were many small temples on the way with history and scenic views. Abhishek explained the history in detail and we had some interesting conversations on history and culture which made the hike even more fun. I would also like to add that Abhishek offered to help very kindly when I had a small issue.
