Ein Tuk-Tuk, ein Fahrer, der hier lebt, drei Stunden, und keine Denkmal-Tickets. Dies ist die Tour für den Tag, nachdem Sie die Forts gemacht haben, Jaipur als arbeitende Stadt statt als Ansammlung von Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Morgen oder Abend, es sind unterschiedliche Touren

Morgens sind es Tempelglocken, Gebete, Blumenverkäufer, die Ringelblumen für die Opfergaben des Tages aufreihen, und die Gemüsemärkte in ihrer frischesten Form. Die rosa Mauern fangen die tiefstehende Sonne ein und die Straßen sind noch ruhig.

Abends ist es umgekehrt: beleuchtete Bazare, geschäftige Chai-Stände, die Altstadt in voller Lautstärke, und das Licht, das golden über die Fassaden zieht.

Tempel

Jaipurs Tempel erscheinen nicht auf der Standardroute und sie sind dort, wo die Stadt tatsächlich hingeht.

Govind Dev Ji, in den Gärten des City Palace, ist der meistgeliebte, das Bild von Krishna wurde hierher aus Vrindavan gebracht, um es vor Aurangzeb zu schützen, und täglich werden sieben Aartis durchgeführt, zu denen sich jeweils eine Halle füllt. Der Maharadscha baute seinen eigenen Palast, damit er die Gottheit von seinem Fenster aus sehen konnte.

Andere hängen von Tag und Stunde ab: die kleinen Shiva-Tempel in den Gassen, die Hanuman-Schreine, und der Kalki-Tempel gegenüber dem Hawa Mahal, gewidmet einem Avatar von Vishnu, der noch nicht angekommen ist.

Die Gassen

Zwischen den Tempeln arbeitet sich das Tuk-Tuk durch das Altstadtraster, Chhoti Chopad, Badi Chopad, den Blumenmarkt, die Armreif-Gassen, die Gewürzverkäufer. Eng genug, dass ein Auto nicht folgen kann.
