Die Rikschas bei dieser Tour sind elektrisch, und die Fahrerinnen sind Frauen, ausgebildet und beschäftigt durch ein Programm, das sie hinter das Lenkrad in einem Gewerbe brachte, das in Indien fast ausschließlich männlich ist.
Das ist keine Marketingzeile, die an eine gewöhnliche Tour angehängt wurde, die Fahrerin ist die Person, mit der Sie den Tag verbringen, und die Fahrpreise sind ihr Einkommen.
Warum eine E-Rikscha
Leise, was die Altstadt völlig verändert: Sie hören die Straße statt einen Motor. Kein Abgas, in einer Stadt mit einem echten Luftqualitätsproblem. Und klein genug für Gassen, in die nichts anderes passt.
Die ummauerte Stadt
Jai Singh II legte Jaipur 1727 auf einem Neun-Felder-Raster an, das aus hinduistischen Architekturtraktaten übernommen wurde, die erste geplante Stadt Indiens, mit festgelegten Straßenbreiten und jedem Handwerk ein eigener Block zugewiesen. Von einer offenen Rikscha im Gehtempo aus ist dieser Plan sichtbar.
Chhoti Chopad und Badi Chopad, die großen Kreuzungen. Die bemalten Tore, und die Havelis dahinter, die meisten noch bewohnt.
Hawa Mahal von der gegenüberliegenden Straße aus, 953 Fenster, fünf Stockwerke, kaum einen Meter tief, 1799 erbaut, damit die Frauen des Hofes Prozessionen unbeobachtet ansehen konnten. Es gibt etwas Bemerkenswertes daran, dieses Gebäude aus einer von einer Frau gefahrenen Rikscha aus zu sehen.
City Palace und Jantar Mantar, und die Bazare: Johari für Edelsteine, Tripolia für Lack-Armreifen, über einer Flamme vor Ihnen gefertigt, Bapu Bazaar für Blockdruck und Mojari-Schuhe.
Und die kleinen Tempel innerhalb der Wohnblöcke, die überhaupt keine Besucher sehen.

Great day with the guide KK, e rickshaw driver Kumal and car driver Gulfan! KK was very informative, while making the tour interesting and also quizzing me every now and then on my memory and general knowledge! super fun! there was a slight misunderstanding on which tour I booked, so started off with e rickshaw. once they realised, immediately solved it by sending a car while taking me to a good Rajasthani lunch spot. As a solo traveler I also felt super safe and protected. overall, highly recommend! it's also nice to know my money went to supporting local low income household women.
Kumal was an excellent driver, very pleasant kind and courteous. My wife and I really enjoyed our day out and it didn’t feel rushed. She helped us take couple photos and treated us to some chai. We felt very relaxed on this trip which was exactly what we needed. The male drivers have been quite pushy during our first week in India so this was a breath of fresh air. The women driver program is very welcomed approach in India for foreigners. Highly recommended.
KK, my guide was really knowledgeable and made my visit unforgettable. My driver Suresh was very polite and patient. I only had 1 day in Jaipur and both of them made it magical. I was offered a car instead of q rickshaw because of the hot weather! (May)

We had a wonderful day in Jaipur, our driver was probably the best we had in India so far and our guide Khalid was incredibly nice and helpful. The itinerary was well structured and we appreciated the room for flexibility. 10/10 would do again!

Prompt pick up from our driver Suraj. He was polite and welcoming. He took us from our apartment as it wasn't in the proximity of the rickshaw ride but he did provide the option of seeing the amber fort which, again, isn't within the proximity for the rickshaw ride so this was very much appreciated it. We then went into the pink city itself where we met the wonderful women named Baby. She drove the rickshaw around the pink city. showing us the sites, allowing us to see how people really live within Jaipur. We were able to stop at places of interests and have a look around at our own pace and we were taken to we asked to stop for lunch and was taken to a restaurant. unfortunately we weren't feeling 100% today so opted for a light meal but it was nice, the food other customers had ordered that was brought put freshly made looked and smelt amazing. We finished our tour with Baby drinking a massala tea. Was an interesting tour. It was really empowering and happy we could support women
I liked the punctual pick up, the friendliness and professionalism of the lady driver, and the fact that my custom helped in a small way the employment of women, from disadvantage socio economic background, some of which are the only breadwinners in their homes, due to unemployed husbands from alcohol abuse or other causes.
This is a great day tour of Jaipur. We were able to see all the main sites, and I completely fell in love with the city. This tour also supports women drivers which is amazing, as you don’t see that often. And as a solo female traveller I loved having this option and really appreciate this initiative. Highly recommend exploring the pink city with this tour!
