Ein halber Tag macht die Altstadt, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, oder Amber Fort und die Straße hinaus dorthin. Nicht beides, was der Reiseplan auch verspricht.

Amber Fort

Elf Kilometer nördlich auf einem Grat über dem Maota-See, begonnen 1592 von Raja Man Singh, ein Rajput-Fort, gebaut von mogulischen Handwerkern, daher liegen persische Einlegearbeiten neben hinduistischer Schnitzerei.

Das Ganesh Pol-Tor ist die Postkarte. Der Sheesh Mahal dahinter ist der Grund, hineinzugehen: Spiegelfragmente über die Decke verteilt, sodass eine Flamme die Kammer mit Licht füllte. Und der Sukh Niwas, gekühlt durch Wasser in Kanälen durch seine Wände.

City Palace
