Sariska, und warum es interessant ist

Sariska verlor bis 2004 jeden einzelnen seiner Tiger durch Wilderei, die gesamte Population, durch Zensus bestätigt. Es wurde das erste Reservat der Welt, in dem Tiger per Flugzeug wieder angesiedelt wurden, ab 2008 von Ranthambore herübergeflogen. Die Population pflanzt sich jetzt von selbst fort.

Diese Geschichte macht eine Safari hier zu einem anderen Erlebnis als in einem Park, der sich nie entleert hat. Sie betrachten ein Ökosystem, das zurückgebracht wurde.

Die Fahrt

Etwa drei Stunden von Jaipur durch das ländliche Rajasthan, Hirsefelder, Aravalli-Grate, und Dörfer, in denen die Straße die Hauptstraße ist.

Die Safari

Ein privater Jeep innerhalb des Reservats, das 880 Quadratkilometer trockener Laubwald, felsiger Hügel und Grasland umfasst, mit Seen, die die Tierwelt konzentrieren, während die Trockenzeit fortschreitet.

Tiger sind die Hauptattraktion und nicht garantiert, Sariskas sind weniger und das Gelände ist bewaldeter als in Ranthambore, also sind Sichtungen schwerer zu erreichen. Was Sie verlässlich sehen werden, sind Sambar, Chital, Nilgauantilope, Languren, Wildschweine, und oft Leoparden-Spuren. Die Vogelwelt ist ausgezeichnet: Pfauen überall, Schlangenadler, Wüstenflughühner am Wasser.

Innerhalb des Reservats liegen auch die Ruinen von Kankwari Fort, wo Aurangzeb angeblich seinen Bruder Dara Shikoh gefangen hielt, und die Neelkanth-Tempel aus dem 10. Jahrhundert.

Die Nacht

Ein Dschungel-Resort nahe dem Tor, Abendessen, und ein ruhiger Abend. Dort über Nacht zu bleiben, macht eine zweite Safari bei Morgendämmerung möglich, wenn die Chancen auf einen Tiger am besten sind.

Praktisch

Safari-Zonen und Genehmigungen werden von der Forstbehörde vergeben; Sie wählen Ihre Zone nicht und wir auch nicht.

Sariska schließt vom 1. Juli bis 30. September für den Monsun für Safaris. Oktober bis März ist die angenehme Saison; April bis Juni ist heiß und bietet die besten Sichtungen an den Wasserlöchern.

Morgen im Dezember und Januar sind in einem offenen Jeep wirklich kalt. Bringen Sie eine Jacke mit, tragen Sie gedämpfte Farben, und verzichten Sie auf Parfüm.
