Las distancias son la razón. De Jaipur a Udaipur hay casi 400 km, de Udaipur a Jodhpur otros 250, y todas esas carreteras pasan junto a algo por lo que merece la pena parar. Seis días lo convierten en un viaje en coche. Ocho lo convierten en un viaje.

Jaipur

El conjunto del Fuerte Amber sobre el lago Maota, el City Palace donde aún vive la antigua familia real, los instrumentos de piedra del Jantar Mantar, y el Hawa Mahal. Una tarde en los bazares de la ciudad vieja: Johari para las gemas, Tripolia para los brazaletes de laca y el latón.

Pushkar, normalmente de camino al sur: una pequeña ciudad de lago en torno a uno de los muy pocos templos de Brahma del mundo, con 52 ghats de baño y ni carne ni alcohol dentro de los límites del municipio.

Udaipur
