Un safari, y de vuelta a su hotel de Jaipur esa misma noche.

Ranthambore está a unas cuatro horas de Jaipur. Hacerlo en un día significa un safari en lugar de dos, y eso importa: los avistamientos dependen de la zona, del momento y de la suerte, así que un único intento es algo realmente distinto de dos. Lo que conserva es su hotel y su horario.

El parque

Construido alrededor de un fuerte del siglo X, con bosque seco caducifolio crecido a su alrededor. Puertas viejas, chhatris y un pozo escalonado están repartidos por la reserva, lo que da a Ranthambore un aspecto que no tiene ningún otro parque indio.

Tiene una población real de tigres, y los animales de aquí están habituados a los vehículos, que es la razón de sus tasas de avistamiento. También leopardo, oso bezudo, sambar, cocodrilo de los pantanos, y una larga lista de aves.

El parque cierra del 1 de julio al 30 de septiembre por el monzón. Las zonas 6 a 10 a veces siguen abiertas; las zonas centrales no.
Las plazas de safari las asigna el Estado, son limitadas y se agotan en temporada y en torno a las fiestas indias. Reserve lo antes posible.
La zona la asigna el departamento forestal, no se elige. Nadie puede pedir una concreta con honestidad.
Ningún tigre está garantizado. Cualquier operador que prometa uno está mintiendo.
Catorce horas de puerta a puerta, ocho de ellas conduciendo, para un solo safari. Si puede liberar una noche, la versión de dos días le duplica aproximadamente las posibilidades.
Los vehículos abiertos son de verdad fríos al alba de diciembre a febrero. Lleve capas.
